Media Personality and crypto-investor Yassi Pressman announced in a Youtube video last Friday that she will mint her first non-fungible tokens (NFTs) this year in collaboration with Whitelist, the NFT project of Filipino-American sibling athletes Jordan Norwood, a former National Football League  (NFL) player and Super Bowl winner, and PBA player Gabe Norwood.

“Our goal is to provide awesome art, access, and a community that doesn’t really compare or that isn’t really out there very frequently in the NFT space,” Jordan told Rappler.

Pressman and the Norwood siblings launched their first NFTs in the “Ace Collection” of the NFT project. A total of 10,000 Aces NFT with 140 different traits were up for sale and launched on February 1, in the NFT marketplace OpenSea. Each piece costs 0.17 ETH (PHP 21,450, maximum of two NFTs) for whitelisted members and 0.19 ETH (PHP24,000, maximum of five mints) for the public sale.

“What does ACE stand for? It stands for Art, Community, and Experience,” Pressman shared.

According to Pressman, Germany-based Behn Kohl and Daniel Grotoholski were the creative and art directors of the project which are “two bigtime people in the NFT space” who already had experience working on NFT projects. The art style of these two combines 3D models with 2D and for the Ace collection they also collaborated with 25 other artists around the globe.

“One thing I noticed about Ace is that he has a really cool chest box. Some of them are unlocked and they have really cool pieces inside but also some are still closed. And I think that gives it a little bit of mystery; it makes it exciting to know what’s inside the box. I also heard that in the future we can unlock some cool stuff,” she shared.

She also added that being part of the community will give one corporate access and discounts to their partnerships, hookups to VIP events, and “an opportunity to be first in line for other upcoming NFT projects.”

“My favorite part of this project is the benefits in real life, so check it out for yourself and you’ll see what all the hype is about,” she added.

Other entities and Filipino personalities such Nadine Lustre, Heart Evangelista, Pia Wurtzbach, Miss Universe Philippines, National Book Development Board (NBDB), Team Manila, La Union Surf Club (LUSC), Mask on Buttons, Titik Poetry, and graphics novel Trese  also joined the NFT wave by releasing their own or participating in an NFT project.

Moreover, UnionDigital Bank also announced their plan to venture into the NFT market this year. The announcement was said during the virtual media roundtable E-TalkTales on December 21. (Read more: UnionDigital Bank Eyes Venturing Into NFT)
