Top-Tec teams up with Pure AV in Ulster University space

Date:

Dalen’s TOP-TEC brand has teamed up with Pure Audio Visual to provide a flexible new teaching space at Ulster University.

The university wanted to introduce a solution to help facilitate multiple teaching styles by supporting small collaborative group working, as well as presenting to large groups of students. The solution needed to be adaptable to any future teaching requirements, so screens could be redeployed to different spaces throughout the campus, without screen and AV kit being fixed onto a wall.

TOP-TEC suggested its CoACT screen trolleys, as they eliminated the need for large, fixed screens on the wall and offered a clean look and feel that was in keeping with the design of the new space.

The solution allows lecturers to cast their content to the screen from the front of the class to each group for more traditional classroom teaching. Students can also be split into smaller group work sessions using the screen as an aid to cast content and to enhance collaboration.

The university’s pre-selected AV/IT equipment utilises the CoACT’s internal racking system, creating an easy-to-use and tamper-proof ‘plug-in-and-go’ solution for students and lecturers, saving time at the start of lessons and reducing IT callouts.

The units can also be deployed across the campus, allowing the university to adapt to future teaching requirements.

Nicola Kirkpatrick, the university’s ICT customer services manager, said: “The adaptability, AV/IT integration and mobility, coupled with style mean staff are keen to see similar spaces and furniture rolled out across the university.”
