Date:

Top 15 Fintech Events in APAC to Attend in 2024 by Fintech News Singapore January 4, 2024

Despite slumping funding activity, Asia-Pacific (APAC)’s fintech industry has remained vibrant in 2023, witnessing growing interest in leveraging artificial intelligence, tapping into logistics and supply chain finance opportunities, and exploring green and environmental, social and governance (ESG)-focused fintech innovations, a 2023 report by consultancy KPMG says.

Fintech funding in APAC recorded a significant decline in H1 2023, dropping from US$6.8 billion in H2 2022 to US$5.1 billion, the data show. The figure represents a notable decrease from the record-breaking of US$45 billion witnessed in H1 2022.

At the same time, industry stakeholders showed interest in AI, with both investors and corporates looking for ways to leverage AI-generated content within fintech use cases, especially in marketing and customer engagement functions.

Another fintech area that gained increasing attention in APAC during H1 2023 was logistics and supply chain finance, a field that’s expected to remain top of mind in the following year as traditional manufacturing companies and other stakeholders look to become more efficient across their end-to-end operations.

Other trend outlined in the report that are picking up steam this year and which are expected to see continuous momentum include ESG-focused fintech and cryptocurrency. ESG fintech will continue to grow on the back of increased awareness of ESG issues and regulatory emphasis, the report says, while interest in crypto will rise amid increased US scrutiny of crypto-focused firms and accelerated efforts by APAC jurisdictions to position themselves as global hubs for the evolution of the sector.

As the fintech sector continues to grow and evolve in APAC, organizers are hosting a number of large-scale events to showcase the region’s latest innovations and fastest-growing players. For industry stakeholders looking to keep up with this fast-moving space, we’ve curated a list of the top 15 fintech events taking place in 2024 in APAC, focusing on must-attend gatherings that are expected to bring together large crowds of fintech innovators, decision makers and regulators to discuss the trajectory of the fintech sector, emerging trends and arising opportunities.
