Ukraine Government Launches It’s NFT Museum Of War

NFT Museum Of War

To raise funds to assist its army and civilians who have been harmed by the ongoing Russian attack, Ukraine has launched its NFT museum of war. With just a few days having passed since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine, the Ukrainian government announced an appeal for contributions in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ether, and USDT to aid in the support of its soldiers and citizens who had been displaced by the invasion. The response to this appeal for donations was overwhelmingly encouraging from the crypto community. According to Elliptic, a cryptocurrency analytics company, the appeal for donations netted more than $60 million in contributions. After previously planning to issue an airdrop to people who have donated crypto to help the country, Ukraine decided to go with an NFT project instead, hoping that more individuals will donate as a result of the sale of NFTs, as donors will have confirmation that they have made a donation. Ukraine’s NFT Museum of War The museum, which is named Meta History: Museum of War, was established to commemorate the Ukrainian identity and independence with NFTs depicting various days of the ongoing war. In it, a variety of digital images are shown, including warplane silhouettes, cartoon explosion images, and various photos of news stories.  A statement from Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation said that the project’s purpose is to preserve the memory of the genuine events of the war period, to transmit honest information throughout the digital community across the globe, and to collect contributions for the assistance of Ukraine. According to the website, each NFT will be sold for 0.15 ETH, and all revenues from the sale will be deposited into the country’s cryptocurrency wallet. NFTs are digital tokens that can be sold and traded. They contain valuable data stored on a blockchain, which is a type of digital ledger. It seems the Ukrainian government is looking to take advantage of the recent popularity of NFTs to bring in donations.

Mitsubishi Generator Series, MGS

The MGS-R Series is the first upgrade to MHIET's diesel generator set lineup in over two decades following the MGS-B models introduced in the year 2000. The new series features 21 models that cover all rating categories(2). Some of the models were released in November 2021 and remaining models will be introduced in sequence by the end of 2022. The new series provides outputs ranging from 500 to 2,750 kVA for 50Hz, and 460 to 2,000 kVA for 60Hz for standby offerings. With the recent modifications to turbocharger specifications and improvement on fuel system and exhaust system to the engine, all models in the series boasts 10-second start. Newly adopting MHIET-made compact and high-power 12-cylinder engine on the 1,500kVA rating for 50Hz, the best-seller in the offerings, has made its installation area the smallest-in-class. Furthermore, overhaul interval has been extended to more than double by examining how generator sets are operated at sites.

All models in the MGS-R series are compliant with the two leading industry standards: the ISO's Class G3, the organization's highest standard for generator sets; and the standards of National Fire Protection Association of the United States. They also satisfy Tier 3 and Tier 4 standards by the Uptime Institute, a private sector organization that certifies the reliability and overall performance of data centers. These days more and more data center operators require high levels of quality compliance with various industry standards.

"At a time when reliable power is increasingly critical for commercial facilities such as data centers, we are pleased to announce that we have launched this new MGS-R Series.," said Ichiro Ichihashi, Senior General Manager, Engine & Energy Division of MHIET. "Many generator sets manufacturers purchase engines from suppliers, but we manufacture engines ourselves as well as generator sets. I believe this is our strength and our value. I am confident of the reliability and dependability of our generator sets that have sold 12,000 units worldwide." The MGS Series will be assembled at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engine System Asia Pte. Ltd. (MHIES-A), MHIET-owned subsidiary in Singapore. MHIET will continue expanding our MGS Series to meet the growing energy needs of customers in various industries including mission-critical applications.

Coccomyxa sp. KJ is a fast-growing, vigorous, and easy-to-cultivate microalga. The plant contains not only abundant nutrients, including vitamins and amino acids, but also unique characteristics, such as suppressing an increase in the bacteria that cause periodontal disease. Moreover, in 2019, it was found that MGDG contained in Coccomyxa sp. KJ breaks the envelope membranes(3) of herpesviruses and has a virucidal effect against the viruses.

Recently, the three universities and DENSO discovered that MGDG contained in Coccomyxa sp. KJ also has a virucidal effect against COVID-19. The group will also research whether this microalga MGDG has a virucidal effect against influenza viruses, human coronaviruses, and other viruses with envelope membranes other than herpesviruses and COVID-19.

The results of the research may lead to the development of products that effectively counter COVID-19 and other viruses. The three universities and DENSO will continue to conduct this research to expand the scope of measures for preventing infectious diseases to contribute to society.

As an academia-industry collaboration project with the grant number JPMJTR204H, the research was conducted with support from the Adaptable and Seamless Technology Transfer Program through Target-driven R&D (A-STEP) funded by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).

MHIET and Calik Enerji to Construct a Demo Plant for Triple Hybrid Stand-alone Power System “EBLOX” in Turkey

Tag Template - News Hub PRO PlatoBlockchain Data Intelligence | Vertical Search AI

TOKYO, Mar 23, 2022 - (JCN Newswire) - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engine & Turbocharger, Ltd. (MHIET) of the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) and Calik Enerji Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. in the group of a comprehensive energy infrastructure affiliate of Calik Holding(1) have constructed a demo plant of their stand-alone Triple Hybrid Power Generation System "EBLOX"(2) in the Republic of Turkey. The plant was built in Malatya, in the factory of Calik Denim (Calik Denim Tekstil Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S.), a group company of Calik Holding. EBLOX optimizes the use of renewable power sources by combining them with a reciprocating engine generator and a battery. This allows for a stable power supply that meets the local electrical demand. We plan to use the demonstration to collect data for further improvement and to display EBLOX's ability to potential customers, partners, and government authorities who are involved in constructing microgrids around Africa and neighboring countries of Turkey.

The plant was built based on the collaboration that was signed in 2019 between MHIET and Calik Enerji Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. with the goal of developing advanced structure for tailored based demand for Malatya Project and new expanding sales of EBLOX in Africa and neighboring countries of Turkey.(3) Renewable energy can be highly unstable due to changes in the environment and other factors, making it unreliable to power microgrids or minigrids. MHIET developed EBLOX as a solution to this problem, and Calik Enerji showed strong interest in the technology, offered assistance to develop EBLOX and to spread tailored solutions to Turkey, its neighboring countries and Africa etc.

The plant demonstrates how EBLOX can supply power to isolated microgrids, reduce fuel costs, and contribute to decarbonization using renewable energy, and consists of a 120kW solar power system, 150kW/167kWh storage battery, two 34kW gensets, a dummy load device of 300kW, and the control system "COORDY."

Many regions around the world located outside of the grid power network require simple and stand-alone microgrids. At the same time, stand-alone distributed power is increasingly being recognized as a power source in case of natural disasters such as earthquakes, storms, and floods. These factors, along with the worldwide trend toward decarbonization, make renewable energy critical in these areas.

With Calik Enerji's remarkable experience in the targeted regions and MHIET's expertise, both parties aim to promote EBLOX as a strategic solution for carbon neutrality.
