During the 2022 season, he tallied 23 total tackles, eight tackles for loss and four sacks. His play aided Clemson in winning 11 games. For the 2023 season, Orhorhoro racked up 25 tackles, eight tackles for loss and five sacks. He led the Tigers to a nine-win season.
Following the 2023 season, Orhorhoro declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a mid-round pick.
Ruke Orhorhoro Strengths
Orhorhoro has a good frame for an interior defensive lineman at the NFL lineman. He stands at 6-foot-4 and 294 pounds. Orhorhoro can add more to his frame if needed. With his size comes long 34-inch arms, which he uses well to disengage from blocks.
Especially for his size, Orhorhoro has great athleticism. He has good quickness at the snap, which helps him get a good start to the play. Orhorhoro has good lateral mobility. He also has good flexibility as well, which can help him get by offensive linemen.
Right now, he is a better run defender than pass rusher. He is able to shed blocks well and maintains solid gap integrity. Orhorhoro can take on multiple blocks to free up others to make plays. When a ball carrier comes in his area, he is able to make the play, a lot of times behind the line of scrimmage.
Ruke Orhorhoro Weaknesses
Orhorhoro has a solid bull rush and a secondary rush, but could add more pass rush moves to his arsenal to be more productive. On top of that, he can add counters to his game to help when his initial rush is stopped. With improvements, he can play more snaps at the NFL level.
He can be a beat slow to diagnose plays. Orhorhoro can fail to find the ball at times. He also can be thrown off by misdirection and play-action. With more reps at the NFL level, he should be able to improve his awareness.
While he does have solid run defense, Orhorhoro could show better pursuit. He can take bad angles to the ball and doesn’t always make his way down field. With more focus and intention, he can improve in this area.
