 
 
Shiba Inu (SHIB) has announced the launch of registration for ‘Shib Names’ amidst an epic surge in its price.
The news, unveiled on Wednesday in the latest edition of Shib Magazine, has sparked excitement among the SHIB army, fueling optimism for a monumental price surge for SHIB to the coveted $0.001 price. Notably, the magazine disclosed the long-awaited registration launch for ‘Shib Names’, stating that users can seize this exclusive chance to claim their desired ‘Shib Names’ at discounted rates before wider availability.
Notably, this achievement is a product of the partnership unveiled in December 2023 between the SHIB ecosystem and Shiba Inu’s top-level domain (TLD) partner, D3 Global.
For context, the magazine, further described “Shib Names” stating they’re like a “passport to the decentralized world.”
“These tokens, bearing a ‘*’ instead of a traditional dot that you associate with internet domains, are currently limited to Web3 functionality. They act as expressions of interest for future.” Read the magazine.
 
Notably, Shib Names, priced at $10 per year for standard names and higher for premium tiers, are expected to offer more than just unique monikers. According to the magazine, they will come with a multichain wallet, functioning as a single address across hundreds of EVM-compatible blockchains, simplifying crypto management. Furthermore, as a cross-platform Web3 username, Shib Names will enable seamless movement between various DeFi, GameFi, social media, and other platforms.
Additionally, Shib Names will provide decentralized identity capabilities, facilitating the identification of smart contracts, validators, nodes, and dApps, fostering trust and transparency in the decentralized ecosystem.
Meanwhile, registering a ‘Shib Name’ is designed to be effortless for both crypto veterans and newcomers. The D3 platform accepts both fiat and cryptocurrencies, including SHIB, ensuring a smooth user registration process.
That said, Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of Shiba Inu, praised the launch of Shib Names, comparing it to the significance of the “.com” domain.
“Remember .com? Yeah, because decades later, it is still the standard. So, imagine if there was a new way to express yourself in the new Shib world? *Shib can get there, but only with your help. Will you stand for decentralization and a better world?” He tweeted.
The unveiling of ‘Shib Names’ follows a remarkable surge in Shiba Inu’s price. After a prolonged period of consolidation, Shiba Inu’s price has experienced an impressive surge of over 280% in the past week. This surge allowed SHIB to outperform not only other altcoins, such as Solana, Cardano, and Ethereum but also Bitcoin, which had already been witnessing significant growth.
