Seoul Infernal Re-Sign Kwon “FIXa” Yeong-hun

Date:

Though the team may have changed their name, the Seoul Infernal are starting to look pretty familiar. After announcing late last year that the then Philadelphia Fusion were holding on to star rookies Kim “ZEST” Hyun-woo and Yoon “MN3” Jae-hee, the now re-named Seoul Infernal are welcoming back their other standout rookie. On Wednesday March 1, the Seoul Infernal announced the re-signing of support player FIXa for the 2023 season.

FIXa made his Overwatch League debut in 2022 with the Philadelphia Fusion. While the Fusion struggled to maintain consistent success during the group play portions, the Fusion remained a force in bracket play. FIXa was a key piece in their playoff pushes as their main support player. His hero pool allowed the Fusion to play several different compositions at a high level. After being initially let go at the start of the offseason, it appears as though FIXa was able to stand above the competition once again.

FIXa was previously with the Uprising Academy Contenders roster before his entry into the OWL. It was there that he displayed his potential to become a true Overwatch League starter, helping the struggling team finally reach the Contenders Finals.

The Philadelphia Fusion have now re-branded to become the Seoul Infernal for the 2023 season, and are still slowly announcing their new roster. With only three players officially announced, it’s unclear who will partner with FIXa in the backline for the upcoming year. Fusion/Infernal fans will have their eyes glued to Twitter in hopes to learn more about the team’s roster going forward.
