• Solana Mobile, the developer of Solana-centric Android phones, announced that the pre-orders for the mobile phone’s chapter 2 have already reached 60,000.

Almost a month after Solana Mobile, a subsidiary of Solana Labs, opened the pre-order for the Android phone’s chapter 2, the firm confirmed in an interview that 60,000 founders have already pre-ordered the second version of the Solana Mobile on its first window.

Solana Mobile Chapter 2 Pre-Order Participants

On January 16, 2024, Solana Mobile opened the pre-order to the public. It has three stages, the Founder Window, which is the current stage, the Early Adopter Window, and the Supporter Window. 

“The response to Solana Mobile has been incredible. Since Chapter 2 was announced, we’ve had over 60,000 preorders and built a real community of dedicated users,” Solana Labs CEO Anatoly Yakovenko stressed. 

The Solana Mobile Chapter 2 is expected to have the same features compared to the first release, the Solana Mobile Saga, but at a cheaper price. The Founder Window offers $450 per mobile phone. 

“Almost overnight, Solana Mobile’s Saga became the most rewarding experience on a phone, ever, and sold out. You know that story,” its website advertised. 

“Now, it’s time for the next part of the epic, with our sights set on new horizons and global availability. Don’t miss your chance to be an early adopter. Join us and preorder Chapter 2, get the word out and maximize your chance for ecosystem rewards and giveaways.”

How to Pre-Order Solana Mobile Chapter 2

• Step 1: Go to https://two.solanamobile.com/preorder.
• Step 2: Connect a Twitter Account. 
• Step 3: Connect a Web3 Wallet. Accepted wallets are Solflare and Phantoms. 
• Step 4: Fill in the personal information needed. 
• Step 5: Choose the “Agree and Checkout” button. 
• Step 6: Confirm the transaction. 

The expected shipping date is in 2025. Refunding the deposited funds is prohibited.  However, if Solana Mobile determines not to move forward with the product, customers will be refunded. 

What is Solana Mobile

It is designed and manufactured by OSOM, an Android development company that claims to have a team that has extensive experience, building computing hardware for Google, Apple, and Intel.

Saga includes a 6.67″ OLED display, 12 GB RAM, 512 GB storage, and a Snapdragon® 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform, the security features of which will enable the Solana Mobile Stack’s Seed Vault. Basically, the Seed Vault keeps private keys, seed phrases, and secrets separated from the application layer yet still capable of interacting with apps running on the device or in a mobile browser.

Lastly, it has a Solana dApp Store, an app store that allows Solana Mobile phone owners to install dApps and applications of Solana-based protocols. 

As of this writing, the same specs and features of Saga are expected to exist on Chapter 2.
