ScarletBox to Launch Fête de la Musique’s First-Ever NFT Collection | BitPinas

  • Scarletbox, a digital collectibles and art launchpad, is set to launch the first NFTs of the annual music celebration Fête de la Musique in the Philippines, offering a collection of 1000 exclusive digital collectibles featuring the work of 10 ocean photographers.
  • Each photograph will be available in a limited edition of ten, ensuring their rarity and value as unique pieces of art. 
  • Meanwhile, donations of ₱3000 will include a digital collectible NFT photo and the option to purchase an 8″ x 10″ Giclee print for an additional ₱500. Each purchase will also enter the NFT collector into a raffle with the chance to win vouchers from the event’s partners.

MAKATI CITY, Philippines — Asia’s blue-chip non-fungible token (NFT) art launchpad, ScarletBox, is set to launch the first NFT collection for the annual music celebration Fete de la Musique in the Philippines—the first among the other 100 countries that celebrate it. 

The collection launch was revealed during the media launch of “MerSea: The 29th Edition of Fête de la Musique in the Philippines” last June 8. Aside from the release, gains from the sales of NFTs will also be utilized as a fundraiser for the event. While those who purchase NFT will have a chance to win some raffle prizes.

The NFTs will feature the work of 10 ocean photographers; Adam, Archie Geotinam, Arturo Miranda Dedace III, Camille Robiou Du Pont, Chino Neri, Ganden Medved Po, Katherine Jack, Lancer Salva, Mike Eijansantos, and Terence Ver Angsioco. 

“To promote the theme of Fete dela Musique which is Ocean Conservation for 2023, the organizers of the Fete and Scarletbox ideated on tapping some of the best ocean photographers in the country in order to share their work to the public while raising awareness and funds for ocean conservation,” said ScarletBox Founder Sheree Gotauco.

The photographers contributed their top ten ocean images, creating a collection of 1,000 exclusive digital collectibles for the public to appreciate. Each photograph will be available in a limited edition of ten, ensuring their rarity and value as unique pieces of art.

How to Donate and acquire the NFTs?

During the sale, collectors have the opportunity to purchase digital collectible NFT photos from the photographer of their choice; however, the assigned photographs will be randomized, with 10% of them classified as “Rares.” “Rares” will feature an augmented reality component viewable through the Artivive App.  

After purchase, the photos can be accessed in the collector’s Scarletbox account and on the photographer’s collection page on Opensea by connecting a Metamask wallet. 

Each donation of ₱3000 includes a digital collectible NFT photo and the option to purchase an 8″ x 10″ giclee print for an additional ₱500.

Meanwhile, each purchase will grant NFT collectors a chance to win raffle prizes:

  • Buy 1 NFT – a chance to win vouchers worth ₱3,000 each to Le Coud Rouge (restaurant of Alliance Francaise de Manille)
  • Buy 2 NFTs – a chance to win 2 RT AirSwift tickets to your destination of choice
  • Buy 3 NFTs – a chance to win 2 RT AirSwift tickets to your destination of choice + a 2-night stay at Bahay Artisano, El Nido

The draw date for the raffle is July 31, 2023.

La Fête de la Musique, also known as Music Day, is an annual music festival celebrated in France and over 100 countries worldwide. This widely embraced national occasion offers a diverse range of musical genres, giving an appealing impact to audiences of all kinds, and is accessible to everyone at no cost.

In the Philippines, the country is the first to feature NFT worldwide in the concert series to support its theme of ocean conservation.

“Each island has its own culture with distinct sounds and characteristics. But despite that, we are connected through the oceans the same way that music connects us all across the world,” the theme of La Fête de la Musique PH read. 

All throughout the month of  June, music lovers in the Philippines can look forward to a series of exciting events organized by Fête de la Musique.

Recent Scarletbox NFT Endeavors

Last May, Scoarletbox announced its plans to digitize the renowned works of Philippine National Artists Botong Francisco, Vicente Manansala, and Gemino Abad into NFTs. This initiative aims to preserve and promote the country’s rich cultural heritage. 

Last November, the collection of profile pictures (PFP) NFTs of Philippine national artist and cartoonist Larry Alcala was launched by the platform.

In 2022,  the collection 2 Legends x 2 Generation of late national artists Abdulmari Imao and Jose Joya and their younger, second-generation’s counterparts was released.
