Saquon Barkley Week-to-Week with Ankle Injury

Date:

Giants running back Saquon Barkley is officially slated to miss at least a little time with his latest injury. After tweaking his ankle in Week 2, Barkley is listed as “week-to-week,” but most believe he’ll be out for three weeks.

The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Monday.

Barkley had trouble getting a new contract this offseason, as did most other free agent or taggable running backs. He initially refused to sign the tag, but agreed after being given $2 million in signing bonus and incentives.

He’s only played in 16 games twice during his career, his rookie year in 2018 and last season. In 2019 and 2021, he played in 13 and in 2020, he played just two. Barkley made his second Pro Bowl last season after gaining 1,312 yards on the ground and 338 through the air to go along with 10 touchdowns.
