Rams Cut K Brett Maher

Date:

The Los Angeles Rams have quickly parted ways with their kicker after he missed three field goals during Sunday afternoon’s Week 7 matchup. Brett Maher, who was acquired by the Rams on August 30, will now be a free agent after being cut.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.

Maher, 33-years-old, went undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft but worked out on the Jets and Cowboys practice squads during that offseason. He bounced around three Canadian Football League teams from 2014-2016.

After a brief Browns practice squad stay, he went back to the CFL in 2017 only to find a steady job with the Cowboys for two seasons in 2018 and 2019. Maher would bounce around to eight more teams before being cut by the Rams on Tuesday. All told, he’s spent time with 16 teams around the NFL and CFL, including three stints with Dallas.
