r/Bitcoin is about to lose its crown as the biggest cryptocurrency community on Reddit, as r/Cryptocurrency has now surpassed the mark of 3 million subscribers. The subreddit focussed on altcoin has crossed this mark for the first time after a remarkable growth during the first five months of the year 2021.

r/Cryptocurrency Subreddit About to Surpass r/Bitcoin 

The Reddit forum based on Altcoins is now on its way to cross the subscriber count of r/Bitcoin for the very first time as the difference between the two is just 10K users now. The overturn reflects the rapidly shrinking market dominance that plunged below 40% last month.

The recent revelation is surprising as r/Bitcoin had around twice as many subscribers in the month of January but somehow, r/Cryptocurrency managed to catch up in just a matter of four months.

As compared to the 4,338 comments of r/Bitcoin, r/Cryptocurrency is averaging 29,995 comments per day. 

Still, the altcoin-focused subreddit is not capable of holding a candle to the parabolic growth of the Reddit community of Dogecoin that went from 180,000 subscribers in the month of January to over 2 million subscribers in the month of May.

Falling Bitcoin Dominance 

Talking about the leaving investment community in general on the front page of the internet, r/WallStreetBets is having over 10.2 million subscribers.

It seems like as the Bitcoin dominance is falling in terms of transactions and volume, its dominance is going to be compromised soon in terms of comments on community forums and people’s interest in the debates over it.

As we already are aware of the fact that r/Cryptocurrency has managed to hit 3 million subscribers recently, soon we will witness the altcoin-focused subreddit community thriving above that of the Bitcoin community on Reddit.
