Pure Audio Visual upgrades housebuilder’s meeting rooms

Date:

Pure Audio Visual has undertaken a rolling upgrade of housebuilder Bellway Homes’ meeting facilities.

The FTSE 250 company, which has 22 regional divisions across the UK, wanted to modernise its workspaces to make meetings more efficient and flexible for employees and visitors.

The priority was to create flexible BYOD environments that are simple to use and consistent across all spaces and locations. Video-conferencing solutions were required to support steady growth in hybrid working and the need for effective communication between divisions and with clients.

Investment was not limited to meeting spaces but also extended into reception, communal and staff recreation areas, where digital signage screens are deployed to display live TV and internal communications. Within the reception, lobby and staff recreation areas, large-format displays deliver company information and updates. Each screen receives content over the network, displaying Freeview TV, corporate communications and welcome messages.

The meeting rooms, which range in size from small huddle spaces to boardrooms and large conference rooms, are designed to provide a consistent user experience. The solution was an Extron push-button control panel, which enables a ‘one-touch’ system start-up, activating the main display and audio devices and presenting the Barco ClickShare Conference home screen, ready for connection.

Clickshare Conference allows Bellway employees or visitors to wirelessly connect their devices to the room environment. This gives them full access to the large-format display, room camera, microphones and speakers, as well as the freedom to run a meeting on any software platform. The screens, cameras and audio devices have been chosen to provide the same quality of experience in different room settings.

To create flexible BYOD meeting experiences in smaller spaces, a Logitech Rally Bar has been paired with the ClickShare Conference and Sony displays.

In the larger meeting spaces and boardrooms, the Rally Bar is replaced by a Logitech Rally camera and Biamp speakers, to provide full-room coverage. Preset PTZ positioning on the Logitech Rally automatically optimises the room view, providing simple, single-button operation to create the best visual representation of the meeting, whether in use by one or 10 delegates.

In the training room at Bellway’s Newcastle headquarters, dual screens offer a flexible teaching space, while a gooseneck microphone positioned on a lectern provides additional voice reinforcement, distributed through discreet ceiling-mounted speakers. The inclusion of a Huddly camera, Biamp Parlé mic and Tesira DSP provides an enhanced remote and hybrid training experience. A Barco Clickshare CX20 maintains the same laptop-driven user experience found in the other meeting spaces.

As the meeting-room experience is consistent, employees can use any space within the company’s estate with confidence. Staff can choose the UC platform they prefer, so the quality of their meeting is not compromised.

By choosing a system that supports BYOM (‘bring your own meeting’), staff utilise their own devices, with full access to pre-prepared content and preferred software applications. The simple connectivity offered by the Clickshare Conference solution ensures sessions start quickly and that attendees – whether or remote or in-person – benefit from the installed audio and display equipment. Staff who use Clickshare Conference have praised its simplicity, and use it daily alongside UC platforms for group meetings, training, interviews and one-to-one sessions.

Aaron Carrier, head of infrastructure at Bellway Homes, said: “Pure AV has been an excellent project partner. The solution provided is adaptable, which was critical given the variety of meeting spaces we have, while also being simple and welcoming to non-technical users.”
