Pokemon Game Sound Library Released

Date:

Pokemon Day is off to a musically vibrant start. One of the many things that fans enjoy about Pokemon the most is the music. Whether it’s the theme playing as Professor Oak welcomes you to the world of Pokemon for the first time, or Sada and Turo’s battle theme, the music of the games is candy to the Chatot’s ears. That is why the company has decided to treat us to it officially. Today, the Pokemon Company has launched the official Game Sound Library.

Fans Can Now Officially Stream Pokémon Music

As a bit of a shadow drop, the Pokemon Company has launched the Pokemon Game Sound Library. This service will allow players to download tracks and musical scores at zero cost for personal and fair use only. A facebook post from Bulbagarden Forums can be found. It is most likely on Twitter and Reddit as well.

Right now, the service is only available in Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Phillippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand. Concisely, it is only available in Asia, at least for the time being. The authors of the post went on to say that it might become available in more countries as the Present starts in those time zones.

What is Available For Check Out?

The following is an excerpt from the forum post:

“At present, 45 separate tracks from the original first generation Pokémon games (released in Japan in 1996) are available for download, with 6 of these tracks also having music scores available. Brass band music scores for the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet main theme is also available. Users can also stream the tracks from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl that were previously made available in the Pokémon DP Sound Library.”-Archaic

However, there are some rules and restrictions.

  • Downloaded music and scores can be used for purposes such as background music for video streaming, events, performances, and educational usage, so long as no revenue or rewards are gained from its use.
  • Users are prohibited from processing the music for use, including changing speed or tempo, applying effects, or sampling the music. Luckily, there are youtubers making remixes to give the flavor some variety.

Archaic also stated “The updated terms and stipulations on the new Pokémon Game Sound Library website will also apply to the previously distributed Pokémon DP Sound Library. However, this library is not currently available for download.” More info on the sound library can be found on their website. Fans can get to the forum post here.

In the meantime, fans can still find the soundtracks on Youtube. Many youtubers work hard to put their own spins on Pokemon soundtracks. Support artists such as HoopsandHipHop, GlitchxCity, and others while the world waits.

Conclusion

Whenever the Pokemon Game Sound Library drops worldwide, it will be wildly successful. Music is a highlight of any game. Even games that are universally hated still have detractors complimenting the soundtrack at the very least. The announcement was made a 5 o clock. It’s early in the morning and Pokemon Day is treating fans well.

Make this day awesome, trainers.
