OWL Midseason Madness 2023 Format and Schedule

With $1,080,000 of prize pool on the line, only six teams are attending this premier event hosted by Blizzard Entertainment – the next chapter in Overwatch betting.

Taking place between 16th and 18th June, the competition is being hosted in South Korea’s International Exhibition Center, Goyang.

Trying to make the most of this oppportunity are the following teams from the West and East regions:

• West Spring Stage Qualifiers – Atlanta Reign, Houston Outlaws, Boston Uprising, Florida Mayhem
• East Spring Stage Qualifiers – Hangzhou Spark, Seoul Infernal

Earning their spot after coming on top at the Spring Stage Qualifiers, only one team will be crowned the Midseason Madness champion.

OWL Midseason Madness Predictions

Hangzhou Spark vs Florida Mayhem

In this opening match, the community is being treated to a showdown between East and West. Such matches are notoriously tricky to predict.

Within their split, Florida Mayhem have impressed with a surprising third place finish at the Spring Qualifiers, placing second at the Spring Knockout Bracket. 

Meanwhile, Hangzhou Spark earned direct qualification to Midseason Madness after topping the East Spring Qualifiers. Also, at the Overwatch League 2022 Playoffs, Hangzhou Spark placed 4th. 

Considering that the West region is respected to be more competitive than East, esports betting odds are favouring Florida Mayhem in this particular match up.

Houston Outlaws vs Boston Uprising

On the other hand, the other quarterfinal is a showdown between two of the best West teams. 

Last time they faced off, at the Spring Qualifiers, Houston Outlaws beat out Florida Mayhem to earn the second seed – earning them direct qualification to Midseason Madness.

As mentioned, Florida then had to fight through the Knockout to earn their seed.

Bearing in mind how these teams have faced off in the past, Houston Outlaws are favoured in this particular match-up. However, Boston Uprising’s roster is notoriously packed with veteran talent – talent which has survived unlikely situations in the past.

So while Houston are favoured, Boston can’t be counted out, as outlined by esports betting sites.
