Nike to Drop Physical Air Force 1 NFT Shoes via RTFKT Forge

Date:

  • Nike’s Web3 subsidiary RTFKT will release its first-ever physical NFT shoes next month.
  • The mint will feature hoodies, t-shirts, and accessories designed by Takashi Murakami.
  • Clone X Forging SZN 1 Pre-Forge 3D NFTs trade for around $500 on OpenSea.

American athletic wear giant Nike is preparing to release a special edition of the iconic Nike Air Force 1 sneaker on 24th April 2023. The ‘Forge The Future’ NFT minting event will be available for all RTFKT holders who own a Clone X Forging SZN 1 (PRE-FORGE) NFT. These 3D NFTs featuring a capsule with the shoe model of choice are available on the secondary market like OpenSea.

How to Try on a Real-Life NFT Sneaker

According to the official announcement, the forging event will go live on April 24th and last until May 8th, 2023. To claim, NFT enthusiasts have to purchase a 3D NFT capsule featuring the color of their choice. For example, the RTFKT x Nike Air Force 1 – Robot NFT costs 0.21 Ethereum (ETH), currently the cheapest on OpenSea.

While the lowest price NFT costs $375, the ten color themes are all in the price range of $400 – $500. On top of that, the collection features exclusively designed hoodies, sneakers, and t-shirts by Takashi Murakami, the famed Japanese designer. Besides, Murakami’s signature art NFT wearables cost significantly less than Nike’s virtual kicks.

Takashi Murakami’s animated Drip t-shirt goes for 0.085 ETH, while Murakami Drip cap is priced at just 0.07 ETH, totaling $125.69 at the time of publication. These collectibles don’t include a forging pass for the upcoming event but will be compatible with avatars on multiple metaverses to use the Murakami NFTs as wearables across platforms.

As the Clone X NFT enthusiasts are eagerly boasting about their stylish and colorful 3D NFTs on Twitter, the excitement comes as no surprise – Nike is the leading fashion brand name in Web3, outrunning Adidas, Gucci, and Puma with $185 million in sales. With the pioneering hybrid sneaker, the RTFKT Clone X community will be rewarded for their real-life walks and try out new features like haptic feedback, auto-lacing, and enhanced lightning on the iconic Air Force 1.

  • Indeed, links that are hard to remember and visually inseparable from phishing websites, which mimic the original.
