Date:

The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2023 Myrtle Beach Bowl.

Georgia Southern Eagles Draft Prospects

Jalen White, RB

White started off his career at Georgia Southern slowly, but has become an impact player over the last two seasons. In 2022, White had 914 rushing yards, 217 receiving yards and 11 total touchdowns. This season, he has registered 891 rushing yards, 65 receiving yards and 10 total touchdowns.

At 6-foot and 215 pounds, White has solid size for an NFL running back. He has solid production and might have to play special teams before finding his way onto an NFL roster. White could be a late round pick or undrafted free agent.

Projected Draft Range: Seventh Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent

Davis Brin, QB

Brin started his college football career at Tulsa in 2018. After starting for the Golden Hurricane in 2021 and 2022, he decided to transfer to Georgia Southern for 2023. In his career, Brin has passed for 9,091 yards, 59 touchdowns and 40 interceptions on 61.7 percent completion. This season, Brin has 3,431 passing yards, 22 touchdowns and 16 interceptions on 64.7 percent completion.

He is one of the more experienced players in the draft class. Improving his efficiency and accuracy this season will help his chances of competing at the NFL level. He will likely have to battle to make a practice squad.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent

Other Draft Prospects: TE Keaton Upshaw (UFA)

Ohio Bobcats Draft Prospects

Sam Wiglusz, WR

Wiglusz started his college football career at Ohio State where he played with some of the best receivers in the game. He transferred to Ohio prior to the 2022 season. For his career, Wiglusz has 127 receptions for 1,498 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. This season, Wiglusz has tallied 51 catches for 596 yards and three touchdowns.

He isn’t the biggest receiver in the class, as he is listed at 5-foot-11 and 188 pounds. Wiglusz could play on the outside or in the slot at the next level. His production over the last two years is encouraging and likely will give him a chance to try out for an NFL team.

Projected Draft Range: 6th Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent

Kurtis Rourke, QB

*Rourke has entered the transfer portal.

Rourke followed in his brother’s footsteps in playing for Ohio. Over his career with the Bobcats, Rourke passed for 7,651 yards, 50 touchdowns and 16 interceptions on 66.3 percent completion. This season, Rourke had 2,207 passing yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions on 63.5 percent completion.

At 6-foot-3 and 211 pounds, Rourke has solid size for the NFL. He has the ability to run the football decently and put up great stats in 2022, winning MAC Offensive Player of the Year. Rourke recovered from injury this season and put up decent stats, but still has more to prove.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
