NFL Draft Prospects in the 2023 Hawaii Bowl

Date:

The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2023 Hawaii Bowl.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers Draft Prospects

Sam Pinckney, WR

Pinckney started his career out at Georgia State, where he spent four seasons. He then transferred to Coastal Carolina where he has spent the last two seasons. In his career, he has totaled 248 receptions for 3,568 yards and 23 touchdowns. This season, Pinckney caught 64 passes for 904 yards and seven touchdowns.

At 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, Pinckney has excellent size for an NFL receiver. He is a mismatch and can be targeted in the red zone. His 40-yard dash time and quickness will come into question, but he has solid production to be considered in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Projected Draft Range: 6th Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent

Clayton Isbell, S

Isbell started his career out at Illinois State. He transferred to Utah for the 2022 season where he provided depth. Isbell joined Coastal Carolina in 2023. In his FBS career, he has 102 total tackles, five passes defended and three interceptions. This season, he racked up 86 total tackles, five passes defended and three interceptions.

He stands 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, which is excellent size for an NFL safety. Isbell showed excellent ball skills this season. His size may make it so he can move to linebacker and still be good in coverage. He will likely need to play special teams to make an NFL roster.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent

*RB Brayden Bennett is in the transfer portal. He is a projected undrafted free agent.

San Jose State Spartans Draft Prospects

Kairee Robinson, RB

Robinson has been at San Jose State for five seasons and has specifically been extremely productive over the last two seasons. In his career, he has 2,646 rushing yards, 707 receiving yards and 36 total touchdowns. This season, he has 1,127 rushing yards, 197 receiving yards and 20 total touchdowns.

At 5-foot-8, he is a shorter running back, but he has solid weight for his size at 195 pounds. He has good quickness and can create big plays for an offense. Robinson may have to prove himself on special teams, but eventually he could be a productive running back in the NFL.

Projected Draft Range: 6th Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent

Nick Nash, WR

Nash joined the San Jose State program as a quarterback, but eventually made the move to receiver. He has 58 catches for 806 yards and nine touchdown catches in his career. This season, he played well with 47 catches for 704 yards and eight touchdowns.

He stands 6-foot-3 and 198 pounds, which gives him excellent size for an NFL receiver, although he may need to add some play strength. His time at quarterback gives him a good understanding of the game, while he is also a matchup problem for smaller corners. He may also need to earn his way onto a team by playing special teams.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
