New leaked information regarding the Call of Duty 2021 title suggests fan-favorite classic maps could be remade for its release.
The leaks made their way to Twitter through credible COD informant, @TheMW2Ghost, on Sunday. In a short thread published that afternoon, they explained that a handful of older maps — including, specifically, London Docks — could be re-released in the new title — which he says is likely to be titled Vanguard — as DLC. They also teased the return of a “very fan-favorite map from a very iconic cod game,” but chose not to reveal its name.
“They usually remake maps that are good from old cods, and IMO, maps in newer cods just aren’t good, man,” they wrote.

“Just some small bits to share,” they explained, “I’ve been told that the map ‘London Docks’ from WW2 is apparently coming to Vanguard as season dlc (1 or 2 I think).”
As with all leaks, take this with a grain of salt. London Docks, itself, was originally released with the 2017 World War II installment where it became immensely popular with players. It would go on to become a common pick in competitive matches—making it an easy guess as to why Activision would want to revive the map.
Vanguard will allegedly launch with eight maps in total. However, like @TheMW2Ghost explained, the reimagining of classics like London Docks will be coming as DLC in the first couple of seasons. Players won’t be able to play it immediately.
Still, the potential to put boots on the ground of COD history for the first time in four years must be an exciting prospect for franchise fans. Whether the team decides to shift the battlefield around or simply reskin it as-is, if done right, seeing beloved locations with 2021 graphical capabilities should be a sight to behold.
