NBA Preseason Notable Performances from 10/6/2022

Date:

Here are some NBA preseason notable performances from 10/6/2022. There were some more welcoming sights from some players expected to breakout this year. Expect some more good performances from rookies, sophomores and maybe even some random vets. Here it is: the NBA preseason notable performances from 10/6/2022.

Wendell Carter Jr.: Orlando Magic

Entering his fifth year in the league, Carter Jr. continued showing why he is only getting better. Even with Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs garnering most of the usage, Carter Jr. arguably had the best game on this Orlando team. He finished with 20 points, ten boards, three dimes, two swats, and one turnover on 8/13 from the field, 1/3 from three and 3/4 from the line. Carter Jr. looks like a polished center at this point, and he even seems to be the starter over Mo Bamba at the moment. As long as he can hold him off, Carter Jr. is looking like a major winner. Expect the 23-year-old to continue shining as the starting center for the Magic.

Tre Mann: Oklahoma City Thunder

Mann had himself a game against the Adelaide 36ers. He finished with 26 points, two rebounds, two assists, and one turnover on 9/11 from the field and a spicy 8/10 from three. Mann is looking like a nice spark plug off the bench this year as he will be behind Josh Giddey and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (when he plays). However, as Alexander nurses his injuries at the moment, Mann will be the starting two guard. Expect Mann to have a nice sophomore season for the boys in blue and orange. Be wary of the return of Alexander, though, as Mann will shift back to the bench and lose a lot of usage. That won’t be for a while, though.

Scottie Pippen Jr.: Los Angeles Lakers

Pippen Jr. had a fantastic game as the starting point guard. He filled up the stat sheet with a nice 14 points, four boards, seven dimes, three steals, two swats, and three turnovers on 4/12 from the field, 2/8 from three and 4/7 from the line. The efficiency was not that good, but he was excellent in setting up the offense, being aggressive and racking up the stocks. The undrafted rookie is fighting for some minutes on this Lakers roster this year. However, he has his work cut out for him as Dennis Schroeder, Russell Westbrook and Lonnie Walker are all ahead of him on the depth chart. Still, this was a very good game from the rookie. Hopefully he gets a shot in the future.

Shaedon Sharpe: Portland Trailblazers

Sharpe had himself a game off Portland’s bench. The final line consisted of 27 points, two boards, one dime, three steals, two blocks, and three turnovers on 10/13 from the field, 1/4 from three and 6/6 from the line. While he still has to face competition for minutes in the form of Anfernee Simons and Damien Lillard, Sharpe made a case for some rotational minutes right away. He missed all of summer league with a nagging hamstring injury. Now that he is healthy, he is showing why he deserved to be a lottery pick despite the lack of time on the court in recent memory. Expect him to be in the rotation towards the end of the season.
