After multiple extensions, Nobuaki Kobayashi, the Japanese trustee of the infamous Bitcoin exchange Mt Gox, has announced that creditors can vote online on a rehabilitation plan. Kobayashi already filed for it before the Tokyo District Court on December 15, 2020, with a revised version submitted on February 15, 2021.
“We are pleased to inform you that the online voting function has been released on the online rehabilitation claim filing system (the online system),” the ‘Notice of Release of Online Voting Function’ document reads. Creditors must log in to such a system through claims.mtgox.com and vote for or against the proposed draft rehabilitation plan.
Per the announcement, the deadline for online voting has been set for October 8, 2021, Japan time. The document, which is an English translation ‘for reference purposes only,’ specifies that people should refrain from disclosing or leaking materials such as the relevant ones pertinent to the rehabilitation plan to third parties.

“If you do not vote, you will be deemed to have voted against the Draft Rehabilitation Plan for the requirement of the amount of the voting rights. Upon approval of the Draft Rehabilitation Plan and the Tokyo District Court’s confirmation order becoming final and binding, the Rehabilitation Plan will become effective, and repayments will be made in accordance with the Rehabilitation Plan,” the document adds.
People Should Refrain From Voting Twice
Furthermore, the voting form and other documents will be mailed to creditors, says the announcement. “Once you have voted online, you are not required to vote using a voting form (i.e., please refrain from voting twice). If you are a creditor with voting rights who has registered on the System, please vote online,” it highlights.
In 2019, Finance Magnates reported that the court-appointed trustee in Mt. Gox’s bankruptcy said he wanted to extend the deadline until March 31, 2020, due to a large number of disapproved claims. However, it was finally delayed until now, opening the doors to creditors possibly get their Bitcoins back.
After the Miami Heat: FTX Partners With Major League Baseball (MLB)
After joining forces with NBA’s Miami Heat, the cryptocurrency exchange FTX keeps its expansion with significant partnerships – this time is the US MLB. As a result, the trading platform has become the Official Cryptocurrency Exchange brand of the league.
- According to a press release from earlier on June 23rd, FTX has entered into a “long term, global partnership” with MLB. This has become the “first-ever” official collaboration between “a professional sports league and a cryptocurrency exchange.”
- Becoming the Official Cryptocurrency Exchange brand of MLB will enable FTX to “create increased brand awareness” and “continued innovation.”
- The US branch of the trading platform has also “formed an agreement” with MLB Players Inc. to receive group player rights. As a result, FTX will use MLB highlights to create original content.
“It’s an honor for FTX to be the first cryptocurrency exchange to be associated with the history and tradition of America’s national pastime. At FTX, we strive each day to make a positive global impact, and there is no better partner for us to achieve this goal with than with MLB and its international fan base.” – commented the exchange’s CEO and Founder – Sam Bankman-Fried.
- Noah Garden, the Chief Revenue Officer of the MLB, said his organization is “incredibly” excited to partner with a “global leader” like FTX. It will allow the league to adopt new technology and engage with fans.
- This major development comes just months after the trading venue inked another partnership with one of the most popular NBA teams – the Miami Heat.
- After the deal, worth $135 million, the team’s home court received a name change and is now officially called the FTX Arena.
John McAfee Reportedly Found Dead After Spain’s High Court Approved Extradition to the US
John McAfee, the veteran entrepreneur, and cryptocurrency proponent, has been reportedly found dead in his prison cell.
- Two leading Spanish outlets, El Mundo and El Pais reported that the US entrepreneur has been found dead in his prison cell in Barcelona.
- The news was also shared by Reuters Legal on Twitter.

- At the time of this writing, there’s no other confirmation of his death or the reasons for it, though both Spanish outlets quote the Department of Justice.
- Meanwhile, reports indicate, on several occasions, that McAfee committed suicide.
- It’s worth noting that the news of his death started circling on the same day Reuters reported that Spain’s High Court approved the extradition order of the entrepreneur to the United States.
- McAfee was charged with tax evasion, which he has been rather vocal about in the past.
- Separately, he was also charged by the US SEC for fraudulently promoting initial coin offerings.
This story is developing.
John McAfee’s Strange Suicide Leads To Even Stranger Conspiracy Theories
Today is a sad day for the crypto-verse. For good or bad, John McAfee, one of the most eccentric, bizarre, and influential personalities of the ecosystem, said his goodbyes to the physical world in a no less eccentric, bizarre, and controversial way: He committed suicide by hanging himself from a rope in his prison hours after learning that the Spanish justice system had approved his extradition to the United States.
The news was first announced by his lawyer and later confirmed by the government of Catalonia, the region of Spain where McAfee was imprisoned.
“Everything indicates that it could be a death by suicide.”
Immediately after the news broke, the Crypto Twitter community quickly shared their shock. Some paid respect, others criticized… and others questioned everything that happened.
The conspiracy was easy to imagine, given McAfee’s background. Several cryptocurrency influencers began trying to tie up loose ends to understand what happened. They relied on several tweets from McAfee claiming that he would never commit suicide, that he was being threatened, and that he knew some secrets that the elites needed to silence.
But something that blew everyone’s minds was a picture uploaded post-mortem to his official Instagram account. A black letter Q, presumably pointing to the QAnon movement, though without explanation.
QAnon, or simply Q, is a conspiracy movement that claims that a group of satanic pedophiles dominate government and media elites. Its followers claimed that former President Donald Trump was waging a battle to destroy this group.
The movement gained momentum with the arrest of Harvey Epstein on sex charges. The suspicious causes of his controversial suicide prior to his testimony further heightened suspicions that he had, in fact, been murdered in order to be silenced.
The slogan “Epstein didn’t kill himself” went viral and is still observed when references are made to corrupt government practices in the United States.
And, of course, McAfee had a thing or two to say about this. He pointed out similarities between his case and Harvey Epstein’s many times and assured he had many secrets that the government wanted to hide. If his allegations are true and the QAnon post means anything, we could soon find out what he knew.
For you panicked people involved, even peripherally in Epstein’s murder:
I do, absolutely, 1,000% have, not just a dead man switch, but a twice daily check in switch.

“McAfee Didn’t Kill Himself”
A Twitter user attempted to contact the administrator of the controversial right-wing news site Zero Hedge and introduce him to a Spanish journalist who claims to have video recordings and reports that Joe Biden allegedly teamed up with the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, to fake McAfee’s suicide.

MMCrypto, a cryptocurrency trader, also questioned McAfee’s suicide. He shared a tweet from McAfee in which he assured that if he were to appear dead, it would not be by his own decision, and everything could be a set-up “a la Epstein.”
Podcaster Peter McCormack shared the ticker $WHACKD in reference to another McAfee tweet showing a tattoo as a reminder that he would never commit suicide despite threats from US Officials.

Getting subtle messages from U.S. officials saying, in effect: “We’re coming for you McAfee! We’re going to kill yourself”. I got a tattoo today just in case. If I suicide myself, I didn’t. I was whackd. Check my right arm.$WHACKD available only on https://t.co/HdSEYi9krq🙂 pic.twitter.com/rJ0Vi2Hpjj

Also, Kim Dotcom, the man behind Mega.nz and active Bitcoin Cash advocate, claimed to be working with McAfee on an initiative to fight government surveillance shortly before the tragic news.
John was a colorful guy. A pioneer in data security. I always thought he partied too hard, should have avoided the drugs and focus on using his brillant mind for good. When he had a sober mind it was all about freedom. That’s how I will remember him, a freedom fighter.
— Kim Dotcom (@KimDotcom) June 23, 2021
And finance lecturer Vladislav Ginko also shared several tweets warning about the danger of McAfee and his family suffering from deaths caused by USAMRIID, the Department of Defense’s (DoD) lead laboratory for medical, biological defense research.
So far, no official autopsy has indicated his cause of death. In the meantime, theories will continue to emerge. But if there is one thing that everyone – conspiracy theorists or not – can agree on, it is that John McAfee lived his own way until the end.
