Mattel Announces Launch of Fast and Furious NFT Collection on Flow
  • The release coincides with the premiere of the 8th installment of the film franchise.
  • Mattel released a set of Star Wars-themed digital collectibles earlier this month.

Mattel, the legendary toy manufacturer, will release the newest version of its Hot Wheels NFT Garage Series. Based on the worldwide blockbuster series on May 22. Coinciding with the premiere of the eighth installment of the Fast & Furious film franchise.

Cars from the movies, such as Suki’s (Devon Aoki, sister of DJ and NFT magnate Steve Aoki) Honda S2000 from 2 Fast 2 Furious and Dominic Toretto’s 1970 Dodge Charger from Fast & Furious, will be featured in the Hot Wheels NFT Garage x Fast & Furious collection, which will be hosted on the Flow Blockchain. The price per pack of the special edition NFTs is set at $20.

NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, are one-of-a-kind cryptographic tokens that may be redeemed for digital or real goods. They may be used as proof of ownership, legitimacy, or membership in a digital format. Each NFT is a one-of-a-kind digital collectable, guaranteeing its uniqueness and rarity.

Mattel’s newest effort into NFTs is the Fast & Furious drop. In a similar vein to the recently released Boss Beauties x Barbie collection, the Fast & Furious project will allow holders to get a die-cast replica of Suki’s automobile if they collect the full set.

In honor of May the 4th, the unofficial Star Wars holiday, Mattel and OnChain Studios released a set of Star Wars-themed digital collectibles dubbed Cryptoys earlier this month. The Flow Blockchain is home to several well-known NFT collections, including Mattel’s Fast & Furious NFTs, Dapper Labs’ UFC Strike NFT platform, the NFL’s NFL All-Day, and the NBA’s Top Shot.
