Matchday 4: 2022 FIFA World Cup Betting

Date:

It is match day four of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and it is looking enticing, to say the least. We have the 2018 finalists in Croatia going up against the North-African giants in Morocco. The 2014 winners, Germany start out with the overachievers of the 2018 World Cup, Japan. The 2010 winners, Spain went up against the biggest underdog of the night in Costa Rica. Lastly, Belgium will close out the night against the future host of the World Cup in Canada. All the games features are expected to be action-packed as every team looks to make a huge statement on their opener

MOROCCO (3.8) vs (2.12) CROATIA

Croatia open as the favourites as expected, the odds are much closer than many would have initially anticipated. Modric will be looking to lead Croatia to more than just the finals this time around as they look to silence the North-African Giants. Can Achraf Hakimi and Hakim Ziyech help Morocco start out strong? A draw is always in the books as the odds are sitting at (3.25).

GERMANY (1.47) vs (7.4) JAPAN

Can the Germans bounce back after a disappointing 2018 campaign? This time the lineup is expected to look different as Leeroy Sane leads the German front line. For Japan to stand a chance, they will have to take similar strides to the ones they took in 2018 when they made it out of a strongly contested group. Germany is once again looking strong in all positions with Antonio Rudiger leading the backline and the youngster Jamal Musiala in the midfield looking to show that no stage is too big for him. If you believe a draw is possible, you could be onto something as the odds sit at (4.9).

SPAIN (1.16) vs (19.0) COSTA RICA

The Spanish open as the biggest favourites of the night and understandably so but if it’s anything to go by, yesterday Saudi Arabia showed us that anything is possible. Spain went all the way in 2010 but have since struggled to rekindle that flame. Having dropped Thiago Alcantara, Sergio Ramos, and David De Gea, the question now becomes, will the coach manage to justify his decisions or will it be a regrettable campaign once again. Can Costa Rica upset the favourites? The odds for a draw sit at (7.4).

BELGIUM (1.56) vs (6.0) CANADA

The Belgians close out the night as favourites, with Kevin De Bruyne looking to transfer his club success to his national side. Can Canada find a way through Thibaut Courtois? Alphonso Davies will be the player to watch for Canada as he is expected to accommodate a forward position. Could it be a draw, the odds are sitting at (4.5).
