The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is preparing the country to participate in the global digital economy.
The upcoming National ICT Month is in line with the theme of “Onward Through ICT: Building a stronger Philippine Digital Economy.” that will be held from June 1 to June 30, 2021. It aims to encourage the public to participate and learn more about its efforts to achieve digital transformation of the country.
The National ICT Month is held annually to harmonize & coordinate the ICT programs, projects, and goals of government and private organizations to promote an overall nation-wide growth.
This year, DICT adopted a new tactical approach — “CHIP” framework which means Connect, Harness, Innovate, & Protect. It aims to accelerate digital transformation of the country, as stated by DICT Secretary Gringo Honasan II, to strengthen the country’s digital economy for the new normal.
“Through this framework, we shall strive for our economy to come out of the new normal stronger and more promising than before,” DICT Secretary Gringo Honasan said.
The event features various online activities that can be viewed as well on DICT’s social media pages. DICT will also be featuring blockchain experts as their speakers & moderators to educate the public in fully understanding how blockchain works & how its impact can provide the country new opportunities & reach its digital transformation goals.
