Autonomous worlds in web3, according to BreederDAO’s Renz Chong:
Chong said autonomous worlds will allow the interconnection of game ecosystems, allowing players to become creators and navigate immersive environments:
- AI-generated content, such as skins and environments, will enhance customization.
- Open ecosystems will enable interoperability between different worlds.
- Players will have the ability to build and deploy smart contracts within the game, fostering a collaborative and dynamic environment.

“You have AI scans using AI to actually generate like all of these skins and then eventually being able to bring them into your world assuming these worlds are like open ecosystems… I’d say like the autonomous World side is really the culmination of a lot of these many products that we’ve created before.”
However: The transition to autonomous worlds will require significant advancements in AI, blockchain, and network infrastructure. Additionally, there will be challenges related to governance, security, and the management of virtual economies.
Chong comment on current state of blockchain games:
“What differentiates it from the old version right now is that you can also co-create with the game itself. You can build or you can deploy like smart contracts on top of it; thereby converting you just from like a simple player to a builder or a creator.”
Worth reading: In 2022, Chong was one of the Filipino founders of homegrown web3 firms that made the cut to the Forbes 30 under 30 list in Asia.
