  • Discover the Next Solana Killers: Top Cryptocurrencies to Watch.
  • Revolutionizing Ethereum: Layer Twos Poised for Explosive Growth.
  • Data Storage Revolution: Filecoin and Arweave Leading the Way.

The crypto market has been experiencing significant price movements since the beginning of the year, with most of the action centered around Bitcoin (BTC) and a select few major altcoins. However, many altcoins have been struggling to maintain their value. Despite this, there are specific categories of cryptocurrencies that investors should keep an eye on as the next bull run approaches, according to a recent video by Coin Bureau.

The first category to watch is known as the “Solana killers.” These cryptocurrencies, including projects like Near Protocol, Aptoide OS, and Sui, aim to compete directly with Solana, which has shown promising adoption rates and currently ranks third after Bitcoin and Ethereum. Should Solana succeed, these alternative projects may also experience substantial growth.

Layer two on Ethereum constitutes the second category of interest. These projects, such as Arbitrum and Metis, offer fast and cost-effective transactions, making them competitors to alternative layer ones. Despite fierce competition within the layer two ecosystems, their potential for growth remains significant, as they provide similar speeds and transaction costs while benefiting from the security of the Ethereum blockchain.

Decentralized storage emerges as the third category to keep an eye on. Cryptocurrencies like Filecoin and Arweave offer solutions for storing on-chain data, addressing the need for decentralization in the face of many layer one and layer twos storing data on centralized clouds. While decentralized storage is more expensive, the demand for data storage in the crypto space is expected to increase, potentially driving the growth of these cryptocurrencies.

Decentralized ID (DID) falls into the fourth category. Projects like Civic, Quilt Protocol, and Clarus, as well as the development of decentralized ID by Polygon, are crucial for unlocking the next generation of crypto use cases. DID can enhance decentralized borrowing, lending, crypto payments, and governance structures. However, regulatory requirements and competition from existing projects like Ethereum Name Service could impact the demand for DID cryptocurrencies.

The fifth category to watch is decentralized finance (DeFi). DeFi protocols, including borrowing and lending platforms like Aave, decentralized exchanges like Uniswap, and stablecoins like Abracadabra’s Magic Internet Money (MIM), aim to replace traditional financial institutions. With a potential market value in the trillions of dollars, DeFi tokens could capture significant value in the future. Nevertheless, regulatory risks and vulnerability to hacks challenge the DeFi sector.

As the crypto market evolves, these categories could play a significant role in shaping the landscape of the next bull market, bringing new opportunities and challenges to the forefront of the industry.
