Guild of Guardians, an upcoming mobile RPG which allows players to turn their gaming passions into assets, totaled 133,270 users from pre-game registrations according to its Game Lead, Derek Lau.

“Over 50% of all sales came via referrals – indicating that the community was sharing with each other, and there is a real ‘share-to-earn’ aspect in place,” Lau said.

Guild of Guardians is developed by Stepico Games, a game development company in Ukraine founded in 2014.

The game earlier conducted a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) sale which had raised over $3 million. The playable in-game NFTs ranged from $200 to $100,000 in value that will be playable after Guild of Guardians’ mobile launch in the first half of 2022.

Yield Guild Games (YGG), a Filipino-led company with over 15,000 gamers in its community and also a notable contributor on Guild of Guardians founder’s sale, had recently raised $4 million in their Series A investment led by BITKRAFT Ventures, a global investment firm for gaming, esports & interactive media & other investment firms like, A.Capital Ventures, IDEO CoLab, Mechanism Capital, ParaFi Capital, Animoca Brands, Ascensive Assets, and SevenX Ventures.

According to Gabby Dizon, co-founder of YGG, Guild of Guardians “ticked all the right boxes with respect to graphics, gameplay, mobile readiness & guild systems.”

“We are always looking for the next good play-to-earn games, and Guild of Guardians piqued our interest. We spoke to the team, and we’re happy with what we found; they have polished graphics, interesting gameplay; we like that it is mobile-based and that they have the guild system,” Gabby also added.

In his recent tweet, YGG co-founder Gabby Dizon said, “The most important thing to understand about Play-to-Earn is that we’re arming people with hope. Once they understand that their gaming skills can give them a better life, it gives them agency to take control of their own lives and make it better. How many games can do that?”
