Green energy mining company Hive Blockchain gets NASDAQ nod

Date:

Canadian crypto mining company Hive Blockchain Technologies has announced that it has finally received approval from Nasdaq Stock Exchange to list shares. The company is currently trading on the TSX Venture Exchange and focuses only on Bitcoin and Ethereum trading.

One of the most notable things about Hive is its use of green energy sources to mine cryptocurrencies.

This initiative is certainly fitting in a time where crypto mining methods are being questioned by the public, especially by environmentalists, because of their damaging effects on nature.

In fact, in the upcoming Bitcoin Mining Council, the environmental impacts of crypto mining would be one of the major things that are set to be discussed.

More about Hive’s green initiative

According to Hive, it owns state-of-the-art data centers in Sweden, Iceland, and Canada which are all powered by green sources of energy. Hive’s machines focus on mining bitcoin and ethereum cryptocurrencies.

The crypto mining company said that most of its BTC and ETH coins were mined just this year which are all locked in highly secure storage.

Crypto’s power

Past records have shown that bitcoin miners have always outperformed the base asset mostly by significant margins.

In an analysis released last month, it showed that while bitcoin has increased 900% on the year, four of the biggest mining stocks rallied 5,000%.

Apart from that, it is also getting clear that cryptominers are becoming an influential voice, not only in the crypto world but also in political matters.

Just this month, Nangeng Zhang, CEO of Canaan (also a Nasdaq-listed mining firm) has called on China’s government to lift its banning policy on bitcoin mining.
