Google Password Manager users will be able to share their login details directly with members of their Google family group.
“Accounts that are part of a family group will soon have the option to share usernames and passwords for a particular website or service directly from Google Password Manager. Whether two members of a family are coordinating with daycare through a single account, or a child is letting a parent access their school assignments, sharing passwords securely has never been easier,” the announcement explains.
When you access a saved password in the Google Password Manager app, you’ll see a small “share” button on the bottom right. Clicking on this button displays a list of your connected family members. After choosing a family member to share the password with, the app will prompt you for confirmation.
Once confirmed, the shared login and password will integrate into their password manager. This integration enables automatic filling of the login details or allows them to manually view the information for login purposes.
This feature is ideal for households where everyone is part of the Google family group as it facilitates easier access to shared services. But there’s no way to share a password with someone who’s not part of the Google Family group, which you can do with third-party password managers like 1Password, which is one of the best password managers currently available on the market.

The password sharing option is just one of the features that Google introduced as part of Safer Internet Day, the company’s initiative to help kids build healthy relationships with technology. It’s also made it easier to access SafeSearch settings and parental controls — parents who are logged in can simply search for “parental controls” on Google to access and manage the accounts under their supervision.
