There are a lot of strategy games and city-building games out there these days. So it takes a lot for the great ones to stand out. There are plenty that are solid but because there are so many, they are forgotten about. Frostpunk was not one of those games. The city-building, strategy and survival game was nominated for plenty of awards and has release DLC since. But fans have been waiting for the second game since its initial announcement. Frostpunk 2 Release Date Finally Revealed
The Frostpunk 2 Release Date trailer was finally revealed and gave us a date of July 25, 2024. Ironically during the middle of summer.

The original game sees the world thrown into an unexpected ice age and the survivors of London have to go settle a new city surrounding a core. This core is a big engine that helps to not only power the city but also heat it. The goal is to get this city started and maintain it in a battle against the weather and time. For those who enjoy strategy games, this is one of the better gems that people do not talk about enough.
When looking at the newest installment, fans have been waiting for quite some time for a release date. Finally, during a summer full of game announcements, Frostpunk 2 was given a release date. Well, sort of.
As seen in the video above, the release date will be sometime in 2024.
This may be a bit of a bummer for fans as they were really hoping for it to release sometime in 2023. That being said, they have already shown more of the new story in this trailer than what had been known for quite some time.
This time instead of coal, oil will be taking over as the world expands for those who survived. Set 30 years after the original game, it will be interesting to see how much the game changes and what stays the same.
Either way, the game cannot come soon enough for players who enjoyed the first one. Look for more announcements to be coming as the release date nears.
