Sorare, a fantasy football game developer, has struck licensing agreements with the French Football Federation (FFF) for the minting of new football NFTs. 

This deal precedes one of France’s most anticipated events, the Euro 2020 tournament where the team is scheduled to compete against Germany.

The event was supposed to be held last year, but because of the global pandemic, the major event was postponed and will only resume this year. 

The French football team is currently competing in the 2020 Union of European Football Association (UEFA) championship. 

Football NFTs

Sorare has already sealed deals with more than 140 teams all over the world and the FFF is the latest sports body to hop on the NFT realm. 

The firm’s chief executive officer, Nicolas Julia said: “Today is a historic day for Sorare as we release the World Championships to the game through our unique collaboration with the French Football Team.” 

Other teams under Sorare’s licensing agreements include Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Juventus. 

The platform already has 100,000 active monthly users from 140 countries and is expected to increase with its latest partnerships with new football teams. 

NFTs on the pipeline

This year, Sorare will release fresh NFTs specially made for the 2020 season. 

It will tokenize French football players which includes Hugo Loris, Antonie Griezman, and Pau Pogba into digital cards that fans can add to their collections.

Just like real collectible cards, each NFT football card will have its own scores and stats. 

With the expected success of these upcoming NFTs, Sorare’s CEO said: “The team is on fire and much more is coming soon to bring you the best of the world of football.”
