Former Duck Corey Perry Returns to Anaheim Friday

Date:

Former Duck Corey Perry makes his return to the Honda Center Friday night, his second game in an Oilers jersey.

The Oilers recently signed him on a one year deal worth $775,000 with another $325,000 in performance bonuses.

Perry was originally drafted by the Ducks when they were still the Mighty Ducks in 2003, with the 28th pick of the first round.

Perry racked up many achievements in his time in Anaheim including a Stanley Cup Final win in 2007. He was the “Rocket” Richard Trophy winner with 50 goals in the 2010-11 season. That season he also won the Hart Trophy as the league’s Most Valuable Player. He is also second all time in games played in a Ducks jersey as well as third in all time Ducks points.

Corey Perry spent 14 years with the Ducks before they bought out his contract in 2019. The team has honored him previously, but it will be his first time in Anaheim wearing an Edmonton sweater.

In his five matchups against his former team Perry recorded just one point a goal last season in Tampa Bay when he was still playing with the Lightning.

You can see Corey Perry, and the rest of the Oilers Friday night in their Pacific division showdown at 10:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. PST on BSSD, BSSC, and NHL Power Play on ESPN+
