Dogecoin is aiming for the moon with its hot wheels set for the race track. The meme currency is literally going places with a fairly good year so far. Not long ago, Elon Musk announced that his company SpaceX was open to payments in DOGE. And now, the owner of a Ferrari F8 Tributo has gone an extra mile to push Dogecoin on the fast track.

Dogecoin Ends Up on Ferrari as Part of Sponsorship Deal

Launched in 2013, Dogecoin is the internet’s original meme token, created by Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer, who used it to poke fun at crypto speculations. But over the years, the token has found some high-profile supporters — Musk being the most notable — who have drummed up the currency’s potential to crypto investors. The Shiba Inu-based currency has seen its fortunes expand considerably, with its prices zooming at 13,000% since the start of the year. Therefore, it’s only palpable that more people are being swept by the DOGE mania.

The Dogecoin-themed Ferrari F8 Tributo first came into the public eye through a Reddit post. The car was spotted by the poster during this year’s Bitcoin Conference held in Miami. Covered in a shade of Tiffany Blue, the automobile was adorned with Dogecoin logos all over. The Ferrari reportedly belongs to Josh Wise, who redecorated the vehicle as part of a sponsorship deal.

Ferrari Owner Could Hear From the Company

The owner of the much-talked-about F8 Tributo has certainly scored some brownie points with Reddit’s crypto circles. But there’s a possibility that he might hear from Ferrari itself, and not for good reasons.

Ferrari is notorious for slapping customers with legal orders for tampering with the company’s products. In 2014, the company issued a cease and desist order to Joel Zimmerman, owner of Ferrari 458 Italia, for custom badges and floor mats in his Ferrari. Zimmerman had applied a Nyan Cat wrapper to his car and showcased it in a few rallies. The vehicle was originally customized for the Gumball 3000 rally, which features all kinds of automobiles in ridiculous redesigns.
