Fantasy Football Players to Add Week 16

Date:

Having a good fantasy draft sets a team up really well, but most of the time to win a fantasy football league, acquisitions need to be made during the season. Each week there are several players worth exploring on the waiver wire. Here are fantasy football players to add week 16. (Note: These are best used for standard scoring leagues. All players are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues)

1. Ty Chandler, RB, Minnesota Vikings

Alexander Mattison was out for week 15 with an ankle injury. That gave Ty Chandler a chance to get most of the work out of the backfield. He didn’t disappoint with 23 carries for 132 yards and one touchdown. Chandler also had three catches for 25 yards.

Mattison may miss more time, as he didn’t even practice last week. Chandler will continue to get a ton of work if Mattison misses more time and he has shown he can be productive. He is rostered in just 45.9 percent of ESPN leagues currently.

2. Zamir White, RB, Las Vegas Raiders

Josh Jacobs missed the week 15 game with a quad injury. Zamir White was called upon to be the lead back for the week. He registered 17 carries for 69 yards and one touchdown. White also had three catches for 16 yards against the Chargers.

There is a chance Jacobs returns from his quad injury, but the Raiders are likely out of the playoffs and Jacobs is a free agent after the season. He may take things slowly returning to make sure he is healthy for the offseason. White can be picked up and started if Jacobs misses any more time. He is rostered in 7.3 percent of ESPN leagues.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire has stepped back into the starting lineup. Isiah Pacheco had shoulder surgery and will miss time. In his place, he had 13 carries for 37 tards. He also contributed as a pass-catcher with four catches for 64 yards and a touchdown.

The Chiefs will likely continue to give Edwards-Helaire opportunities with Pacheco out. Jerrick McKinnon will get some of the receiving down work, but Edwards-Helaire can handle the early down snaps. He is rostered in 32.3 percent of ESPN leagues.

4. Trey Sermon, RB, Indianapolis Colts

Jonathan Taylor had missed time with a thumb injury. Now, Zack Moss could miss time with an arm injury and left the game in week 15. Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson split the work out of the backfield. Sermon was the more productive player with 17 carries for 88 yards. He did not register a catch.

Taylor could return for the week 16 game against the Falcons. His health should be monitored before playing Sermon. Sermon can be picked up though, as at the least he can be a handcuff and at most he can have a productive week or two in the Colts’ offense. He is rostered in 1.6 percent of ESPN leagues.

5. Noah Brown, WR, Houston Texans

The Texans had plenty of injuries to worry about in week 15. Top receivers Tank Dell and Nico Collins missed the game with an injury. Starting quarterback C.J. Stroud also missed the game with a concussion. Case Keenum was able to connect with Noah Brown a lot. He finished the game against the Titans with eight catches for 82 yards and a touchdown.

Dell is out for the season, while Collins may return. Even if he does, Brown has been able to produce in spurts this season. He is a boom or bust play, but a team with injuries can insert him into the starting lineup and hope for the best. Brown is rostered in 40.4 percent of ESPN leagues.
