The Atlanta Falcons have acquired another wide receiver for young quarterback Desmond Ridder. Van Jefferson, formerly of the Rams, has been acquired by Atlanta for a 2025 sixth and seventh round draft pick swap.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Jefferson was a second round draft pick (57th overall) by the Los Angeles Rams during the 2020 NFL Draft. He helped the Rams win Super Bowl LVI, catching 50 passes for 802 yards and six touchdowns during that season.
Last year, Jefferson only had 24 catches for 369 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games (nine starts). He’s already on pace to break that mark this season, with 108 yards through five games this season. The Falcons already have a talented core of pass catchers with London and Pitts, now they hope Jefferson comes back into form.
