Its developers have promised that it will be much more in-depth both in story through the way that people can play the game. In terms of being able to play with a friend, the answer to that is unfortantely no. Co-op will not be a part of the game but that was intential according to the game developers. They felt as though the game would become a bit too confusing with players going everywhere. Instead, they believe that the game is best played solo as it will allow the player to focus more on the game and what they are doing.
Luckily, the Callisto protocol is making its way to players on December 2, 2022. So for those who enjoy a solo expierence, be prepared to lock-in soon.
