Ebury Bets Further on Football Sponsorships: Inks Deal with Top Scottish Club

Date:

The rush among financial services companies to partner with sports clubs became prominent with Ebury’s latest sponsorship deal with Rangers Football Club, one of the top football teams in Scotland. The partnership will run until the end of the 2025-26 play season.

Announced today (Friday), the cross-border payment solutions firm has gained the title of the club’s Official FX Transfer partner with the latest deal. According to the official press release, the partnership will bring “a range of benefits for both Ebury and Rangers.”

Although the full scope of the partnership was not detailed, Ebury highlighted that it will provide comprehensive solutions for Rangers’ global finance operations.

“Ebury is a hugely innovative and rapidly growing global financial services firm which we are extremely proud to partner with,” said the Chief Commercial Officer at Rangers Football Club, Karim Virani. “Our plans working alongside them as a club, but also to support the local business network in Scotland, are extremely exciting, and we’re very much looking forward to bringing this partnership to life.”

Expansion and Marketing Ongoing

Ebury provides international payment, FX, and risk management solutions across over 130 currencies. Founded by Juan Lobato and Salvador García, the company has grown to employ more than 1,700 workers globally and processes £27 billion in annual transactions.

The company is expanding its geographical footprint. It recently launched a bank in Brazil and acquired a financial services company in South Africa. Further, it intends to hold an initial public offering within the next two years.

Ebury also has a few other active sponsorships in place. Last November, it inked a multi-year deal with a Dutch football club. Its partnerships last year include a four-year deal with Fulham Football Club in England and a separate deal with another football club located in France.

Commenting on the latest partnership, Ebury’s UK Country Manager, Phil Monkhouse, said: “Partnering with Rangers is a testament to our commitment to the local community. Rangers’ sense of tradition, competitive spirit, and incredible fan base is why we’re not just sponsors; we’re fans, dedicated to the development and success of Scottish businesses.”
