Ducks Fall Big at Bell Centre Montreal Blanks Anaheim 5-0

Date:

Anaheim was blanked by the Montreal Canadiens Tuesday night 5-0. On a night that saw as many fights as it did goals, the Canadiens handled the Ducks. The Ducks had 27 hits and 29 penalty minutes. Montreal kept up with 27 hits of their own and 33 penalty minutes.

Nick Suzuki stayed hot for the Canadiens as the team’s leading scorer, he added goals 18 and 19 on the season. He also added an assist. Juraj Slafkovsky also had three points with two goals and an assist.

The Ducks Adam Henrique seven game point streak came to an end. He had also recorded 24 points in the Ducks last 26 games.

Montreal was dominant on both ends of the ice. They only gave up 13 shots to the Ducks including just seven combined in the last two periods. Montreal also created 38 shots on goal of their own.

Lukas Dostal took the loss for the Ducks on what was a busy night for him. He had this to say after the game, “It wasn’t the easiest night, but obviously as a goaltender, you’ve got to be prepared for everything,”.

Cayden Primeau picked up his fifth win of the season for Montreal in the shutout earning him third star of the game.

Cam Fowler commented on Montreal being hungry for a win after giving up seven goals to St. Louis just a few days prior.

The Ducks failed to stop the young and fast Canadiens. They will turn their focus to Ottawa.

Coming in last in the Atlantic Division and second to last in the Eastern Conference are the Ottawa Senators. They have managed just 46 points with a 22-25-2 record.

However, they are a different team in their last 10 games with a 7-1-2 record and are on a four game winning streak.

Senators left winger Brady Tkachuk is tied for 15th in the league in scoring with 25 goals so far on the year. The Ducks will have their hands full with him and the red hot Senators.

You can catch the game tonight on BSSD, BSSC, and NHL Power Play on ESPN+. Puck drop is at 4:00 P.M. PST and 7:00 P.M. EST.
