FreeBitcoIn Acquires 3.75 Billion of FUN Tokens

[PRESS RELEASE – Please Read Disclaimer]

Through a series of ventures, FreeBitco.in seeks to promote the mass adoption and utilization of FUN Token in the iGaming and Gaming spaces.

FreeBitco.in, one of the biggest Bitcoin iGaming websites in the world, has acquired the majority of FunFair’s remaining cold storage of FUN tokens, the native cryptocurrency of the FunFair gaming ecosystem. The cold storage holds 4.45 billion FUN Tokens and FreeBitco.in has acquired 3.75 billion tokens.

Through this acquisition, FreeBitco.in plans to invest in the token’s long-term development.

“Since 2013, FreeBitco.in’s goal has always been to provide online gaming enthusiasts with a frictionless, transparent, and truly fair experience,” said a statement by FreeBitco.in. “There’s no better fit than the FUN token to help us significantly enhance our efforts.”

The FUN Token

Since 2017, FunFair Technologies has been striving to deliver a guaranteed fair, decentralized gaming experience to the mass market through blockchain technology utilizing the FUN token.

“Despite several industry firsts and significant milestones in proving that use case, it has recently become apparent that FreeBitco.in has developed a different and superior use case for the FUN token,” said a statement released by FunFair.

This announcement refers to FreeBitco.in’s Premium Membership Program; a feature that incentivizes FreeBitco.in users to buy and hold FUN tokens for significant benefits. This activity has driven considerable volume into the token economy without the burden of significant on-chain transactions.

“There’s no doubt that FreeBitco.in’s customers are currently generating the bulk of FUN token commercial activity rather than FunFair’s customers,” continued the statement.

“With this in mind and for the token economy to maintain its recent success, FunFair has agreed to sell the majority of their FUN token holdings to FreeBitco.in.”

FUN is an ERC20 token listed on major exchanges Binance, BitFinex, HitBTC, Changelly, and OKEx, as well as decentralized exchanges like Uniswap.

FreeBitco.in’s Vision for FUN

FreeBitco.in aspires to grow the FUN token as an independent entity through a series of upcoming projects.

“Our sole objective, as of now, is to work to increase FUN’s utility and value,” said FreeBitco.in. “We’re thoroughly committed to its long-term growth.”

Accordingly, FreeBitco.in is preparing to undertake the following initiatives:

Strategic Burning of Tokens: FreeBitco.in plans to invest a substantial portion of its bottom line into strategically acquiring and burning FUN tokens to elevate their value over time.

Improving Liquidity: FreeBitco.in is working on increasing FUN’s liquidity across all markets, thus making it easily accessible and tradeable. This is evidenced by a cumulative influx of $3 million in the FUN/ETH and FUN/USDC trading pairs on Uniswap recently, and other exchanges are set to follow.

New Blockchain: Based on the Ethereum blockchain, FUN prided itself on being fast, open, and secure. However, the growth of DeFi on Ethereum has been pushing gas prices up for many months, making the adoption of FUN too expensive for users. FreeBitco.in is actively exploring opportunities to port the FUN Token to a new blockchain that is faster and cheaper.

Dedicated Wallet: FreeBitco.in is working on creating a dedicated wallet for FUN users that can operate seamlessly between different iGaming platforms. The wallet would also help users convert their FUN tokens into multiple crypto and fiat currencies.

Proactive Development: FreeBitco.in is assembling a development team to build innovative, consumer-facing apps based around the FUN token, thus creating more use cases, strengthening utility, and promoting adoption.

Creating Effective Partnerships: FreeBitco.in seeks to build productive partnerships and affiliations with other iGaming entities to promote FUN’s identity as a transactional currency in online gambling.

Note: This is not a partnership between the two organizations, namely FreeBitco.in and FunFair Technologies. The aforementioned acquisition and venture is at the sole discretion of FreeBitco.in.

Bitcoin Falls Below $1 Trillion Market Cap Following Bloody Week: The Crypto Weekly Recap

Republished by Plato

Published

on

This week saw a serious correction in the total cryptocurrency market. This has resulted in Bitcoin falling below the $1 trillion market cap level. The price corrected by more than 20% at one point as it lost around $13,000 from the recent all-time high before correcting to where it currently trades at around $48K.

In all fairness, Bitcoin’s downturn followed that of the entire legacy market. As we reported earlier, NASDAQ saw the biggest slump since October last year as government bond yields gave the market a jolt, and investors favor companies that would benefit from a broader economic recovery throughout the rest of the year.

In any case, the correlation between the traditional financial markets in the face of some of the largest indices, such as the NASDAQ Composite and the S&P 500, is more than evident. Nevertheless, the cryptocurrency market, in general, took a beating over the last week as it saw more than $300 billion wiped off its capitalization.

Not every coin is in the red, though. Cardano’s ADA doesn’t seem to care much about the rest of the market and continues to increase. It managed to overtake Tether’s USDT stablecoin and became the third-largest cryptocurrency by means of market capitalization. Interestingly enough, a large Dubai-based investment fund said that it would sell $750 million in Bitcoin to buy more ADA and Polkadot’s DOT.

To no one’s surprise, MicroStrategy continues to buy Bitcoin at an accelerated rate. The company announced yet another $1 billion BTC buy this week which came after the convertible senior notes offering.

In any case, it might be the case that the recent correction was a healthy one. The truth is that this bull run had almost no serious corrections on the way up, and it’s entirely natural for investors to take profit. In addition to that, the market was overly leveraged, which caused a cascading effect of long liquidations on the way down, adding more fuel to the fire.

Let’s hope that the worst is over, and let’s see what the next week has in store!

Market Data

Market Cap: $1494B | 24H Vol: 233B | BTC Dominance: 59.6%

BTC: $47,820 (-7.8%) | ETH: $1,525 (-21.3%) | XRP: $0.442 (-17.1%)

3 Possible Reasons Why Bitcoin Plunged Over 15% in 24 Hours. Bitcoin dipped by more than 15 in less than 24 hours and took the entire market down with it. With this in mind, we take a look at three of the possible reasons for the most recent downturn in the market, which resulted in the loss of more than $300 billion in its capitalization.

The Laser Eyes Meme: Not a Coincidence That This Marked a Local Top for Bitcoin (Opinion). The laser eye meme on Twitter is spreading like wildfire as some of the most prominent crypto proponents and people outside of the industry change their profile pictures to include the beams. This might have been one of the signals that the market is in a state of euphoria.

Crypto Investment Fund to Sell $750M in Bitcoin for Cardano and Polkadot. A Dubai-based cryptocurrency investment fund that has more than $1 billion of assets under management (AUM) thinks that the value of Polkadot and Cardano will be higher than that of BTC in the years to come. It has announced that it will sell $750 million of its BTC to buy more ADA and DOT.

JP Morgan: Put 1% In Bitcoin as a Hedge as Demand is ‘Massively Outstripping’ Supply. JP Morgan has supported the narrative that investors should allocate 1% of their portfolio in BTC as a hedge. This was asserted by strategists of the multinational investment bank as more and more people seem to add fuel to the merit that bitcoin could protect assets against the inflating fiat currencies.

Someone Just Moved 100 Bitcoins Now Worth $5M That Only Cost $8 in 2010. An early bitcoin adopter who has mined 100 BTC back in 2010, which then had a face value of no more than $8, has moved them for the first time in over 11 years. Currently, the bitcoins are worth around $5 million.

MicroStrategy Completes Another $1 Billion Bitcoin Buy. MicroStrategy, the company, spearheaded by one of Bitcoin’s most vocal proponents, Michael Saylor, has bought another $1 billion worth of the cryptocurrency. This comes shortly after they conducted a convertible senior note offering to raise the money.

Blockchain and crypto will challenge current finance, Nigeria VP says

Republished by Plato

Published

Nigeria’s vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, delivered a speech at an economic summit on Friday in which he spoke positively of crypto and blockchain.

“There is no question that blockchain technology generally, and cryptocurrencies in particular, will in the coming years, challenge traditional banking, including reserve banking, in ways that we cannot yet imagine,” Osinbajo said on Friday during the Central Bank of Nigeria, or CBN, Bankers’ Committee Economic Summit. “We need to be prepared for that seismic shift, and it may come sooner than later,” he said.

The Nigerian vice president also noted the broadness of the crypto industry, mentioning decentralized finance, or DeFi, in the mix. “Decentralized finance, using smart contracts to create financial instruments, in place of central financial intermediaries, such as banks or brokerages, is set to challenge traditional finance,” he said.

Osinbajo’s speech, which included a number of other points, is posted on his YouTube channel. The Nigerian vice president also tweeted out a video clip highlighting of some of his crypto comments from his talk.

“The point I’m making, is that some of the exciting developments we see call for prudence and care in adopting them and these have been very well-articulated by our regulatory authorities,” he said, adding:

“But we must act with knowledge and not with fear. We must ensure that we are in a position to benefit and in a position to prevent any of the adverse side effects, or any of the possible, even criminal, acts that may arise in consequence of adopting or taking any of these options.”

The comments come in contrast to recent developments in Nigeria. Earlier in February, Nigeria forbade banking interactions with crypto exchanges, as per a ruling from its central bank. The CBN’s governor also called crypto assets illegitimate. Bitcoin recently traded at a significant premium in the region.
