As the entirely on-chain game My Neighbor Alice releases its Alpha Season 4, Chromia’s Appnet keeps expanding.
At the same time as the announcement of My Neighbor Alice Alpha Season 4, Chromia, a relational blockchain platform for decentralized applications, moved the completely on-chain game to its Shared Appnet.
Chromia’s Appnet offers a closed beta environment where decentralized programs (dapps) can use actual resources, build a user base, and showcase the platform’s technological capabilities. Since October 2023, when it first went online, Appnet has continuously grown. It is already the home of innovative projects like the Digital Collectibles Marketplace by VfB Stuttgart and Connected Fashion by BLK DNM.
In the multiplayer open-world game My Neighbor Alice, players can customize a plot of land to explore, engage with others, and display their creativity. Because ALICE tokens, NFTs, and game logic are all saved and processed on Chromia, the game maintains classic game fundamentals while being decentralized and entirely on-chain. Chromia’s relational blockchain technology, which outperforms other dapp platforms in data management, storage speed, and efficiency, makes this possible. Players no longer have to manually sign transactions or pay gas fees after completing an action, enhancing the overall user experience.

   The dapp offers the first instance of token bridging between Chromia and an EVM-based network. Thanks to Chromia’s decentralized bridge, players can transfer ALICE tokens from the BNB Smart Chain to the Appnet and utilize them to create exclusive NFTs within the game.

After Chromia Mainnet 1.0 launches in 2024, the dapps currently operating on the Appnet are anticipated to transfer to it. The team just declared the launch of their public mainnet for the following year and issued a new plan.
