  • Bitskwela’s Bull or Bear debate series returns for its fourth edition, this time taking place in Cebu City, following previous events in Manila, Davao, and La Union.
  • New mechanics have been introduced for the debates, allowing for a more structured discussion and open discussion sessions where debaters can question each other’s arguments.

Back for its fourth run, Bitskwela’s Bull or Bear debate series will now take place in the Queen City of the South, Cebu City. The upcoming event will feature a different format compared to the previous three debates, with three distinct discussions scheduled from June 9 to June 16, 2023.

“Bull or Bear: Cebu” will also have three parts: the grand event, an IRL side event, and a Twitter Space side event.

New Mechanics

For the Cebu edition and the next ones, Bitskwela has implemented a new set of mechanics for the debate. Unlike in the previous episodes, where all of the debaters had the freedom to choose their stance, whether it was in agreement or disagreement with certain aspects of the web3 industry, the new format indicates that only two predetermined debaters may answer the moderator’s prompt in a minute or less.

Other debaters will also be able to state their stance but will only have 30 seconds to stress their reasons. Moreover, there will also be an open discussion session that will allow a debater to question the other debater’s arguments.

Bull or Bear: Cebu (Grand Event)

The highlight of this iteration of the Bull and Bear in Cebu will commence on July 15 at Ayala Malls Central Bloc, Cebu City.

The list of debaters as well as the topic for the grand event have yet to be announced. Tickets for this event are also priced at ₱250 each.

“Trust us. You’ll love the lineup. Builders, founders, and community leaders in one place—forwarding Web3 education with a proper afterparty after the debate proper,” the organizers teased.

Bull or Bear: Online Debate

Out of the three debates, the BoB Cebu side event Megaspaces, “THE LIMITS OF DYOR: A Debate on Web3 Influencers and Promotions”, was the first to commence.

It was done online through a Twitter Space on June 9, 2023. Industry experts and influencers discussed the limits of DYOR (Do Your Own Research) and delved into the significant role played by influencers and promotions in the world of Web3 retail investing.

The side event is organized by web3 education platform Biskwela and co-presented by mobile e-wallet GCash and PR agency Blockceler8 in partnership with micro-blogging platform D.Buzz and crypto trading platform Bitget.

Bull or Bear: NFTs & Fine Arts

Although the main location for the grand debate is in Cebu, this side event will take place in Manila on June 16 at the Imahika Art Gallery, Lee Gardens Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong.

Tickets for this in-real-life (IRL) event are limited to 100 and are priced at ₱250 each

The panel of debaters at this event consists of individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise in fine arts and non-fungible tokens. The speakers are Brian Poe, the co-founder of Unit256 and Artifract; Jeffrey Bondoc, the founder of BAYCkada; Ian Fulgar, the founder of Imahica Art and principal of Fulgar Architects; and artist Marso, representing CryptoArtPh and LevelArtGuild. Edrei Tan will serve as the host and moderator, ensuring a smooth and engaging discussion among the participants.

The event is in partnership with D. Buzz, Bitget, Tekkon, and Likhaan. It is also supported by local NFT marketplace Likha.
