As soon as players finish the prologue in Hogwarts Legacy it’s most likely that they will come across a door. A door with animal symbols around it and a number in the middle. Actually, 2 of them to be exact. Although it’s found at the beginning of the game they can still be solved right away. Here is the best Hogwarts Legacy animal doors guide.
Mathematics
So to solve these doors players are going to have to do some math. Each symbol around the door represents some sort of number. The animals and their respective numbers are as follows:
Demiguise – 0
Unicorn – 1
Dragon – 2
Hydra – 3
Owl – 4
Crab – 5
Salamander – 6
One-eyed Monster – 7
Spider – 8
Snake – 9
To remember these numbers look at the animal portraits. They all have key traits to help players remember the assigned numbers. For example, the crab has 5 legs so its assigned number is 5 or the unicorn has 1 horn so its designated number is 1.
In each symbol on the door, there will be numbers and single and double question marks. The main goal is to guess the specific animal in place of the question marks to unlock the door. All 3 corners of the symbol must add up to the number shown in the center of the triangle. A number and an animal will occupy two corners it’s up to the players to decipher what the question marks are.
Let’s run a quick example using the image above. 13 is in the middle, on the top is a spider, on the left is the number 1, and on the right is the question mark. If done correctly that question mark is an owl. The reason why is because 8(spider)+1+4(owl)=13.
Let’s do one more with the bottom symbol. 21 is in the middle, 13 is on the left, a hydra is on the bottom, and double question marks are on the right. The question mark is a crab. 13+3(hydra)+5(crab)=21
To lock in the answers there will be two panels each marked with their respective question marks. All gamers need to do is flip them to the right corresponding animal. When flipped, walk back to the magic door and loot away.
