Reddit’s co-founder Alexis Ohanian says he has a lot of Ethereum in his holdings but nobody knows exactly how much that is so let’s read more about it on our latest Ethereum news.

Alexis Ohanian says that he has a lot of Ethereum in his holdings and it is clear why he likes it so much. His new venture firm Seven Seven Six closed a funding round after raising $150 million which brought him to the media’s spotlight and now he wants to share his vision on the future of crypto. In an interview with CNBC, Ohanian devoted a portion of the discussion to praising Ethereum and he said that ETH comprised a huge part of his funds that were invested into crypto. When asked about the most promising cryptocurrencies in the ecosystem, Ohanian assured that dogecoin was off his radar and then proceeded to compliment Ethereum:

“I do think Ethereum [has], at least for the next year or two, really got the most to prove, or at least the most potential to show something because there are so many interesting applications. So NFTs are just the start of what’s getting built on top of the Ethereum blockchain, and that’s where a lot of my holdings are candidly.”

Ohanian didn’t quite disclose his ETH holdings so it is impossible to come up with the exact number. His registered Ethereum Name Service domain stores only 1.96858 Ether which is not a lot in the billionaire’s language. Ohanian was quite bullish on Ethereum’s price for a few years and back in 2018, he predicted that ETH will reach a price of $1500 and the cryptocurrency then crashed below $100 but then managed to recover to the current $2481.

For Ohanian, Ethereum is functional and very exciting and has a bright future ahead. Even though he resigned from Reddit’s board, Reddit experimented with the blockchain and aimed to create new forms of interaction among the users. The crypto community Moon Tokens were a clear example of this as they are generated on the Rinkeby Ethereum testnet and reward users for their participation in the communities. Reddit offers the BRIK tokens to create a smaller economy on the subreddit that is dedicated to Fortnite.

The rise of stablecoins enabled a huge expansion of crypto trading and the growing popularity of the NFTs is not a part of the crypto culture.
