5 Potential Trade Destinations for Jerry Jeudy

Date:

The Broncos are off to a terrible start to the 2023-2024 season, amassing a record of just 1-4 through five weeks. Their lone win came against the Chicago Bears, who have looked just as bad, if not even worse. Even so, they needed a 28-point second half comeback to win the game.

It looks as if the team is going to begin a fire sale of players, as things don’t seem to be looking up. Wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has the most trade rumors swirling around him ahead of Week 6. Here are five potential trade destinations for Jeudy.

Kansas City Chiefs

This is an easy one.

The Kansas City Chiefs have had a wide receiver problem so far this season. None of their pass-catchers are popping, outside of Travis Kelce, who has been dealing with some injuries. Despite some decent-to-good play out of Isaiah Pacheco, there’s no one on the offensive roster to rely on besides Mahomes and Kelce.

Being that the team is firmly in the “Super Bowl or Bust” window, they would likely make some sort of trade to grab some reliability at the receiver position. Jeudy will cost the Chiefs more than most other teams because they reside in the Broncos’ division, but that may not be as much of a hurdle as one might think.

No one is expecting this team to fix their roster and coaching issues within the next few years. They’re probably not going to start really being competitive until 2025-2026 at the very least. So that may incentivize Kansas City to pay more in trade value, because they don’t have to worry about the Broncos taking their AFC West crown any time soon.

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens were finally supposed to be set at wide receiver this year. Alas, poor play and far too many drops have plagued the team yet again, despite Lamar Jackson putting the ball on a rope for these receivers.

Again, they may have to pay a bit more (although not as much as the Chiefs would) to grab Jeudy, because both teams are in the AFC. But almost any price is worth it to finally have some reliable pass-catchers for Jackson. This team is primed for a Super Bowl run and they can’t have dropped balls cost them a playoff game.

Buffalo Bills

Outside of Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, the wide receivers in Buffalo are enigmatic to say the least. This team has finally gotten its run game going and Dawson Knox and Dalton Kincaid have them set at tight end.

But this shouldn’t be a squad that’s happy with “good enough.” Josh Allen and this well-coached defense deserve an embarrassment of riches on the offensive side of the ball to finally get them over that hump in the playoffs. Adding another threat like Jeudy could really unlock this offense.

Carolina Panthers

Carolina is another team that has been the talk of the rumor mill through the early season. At 0-5, most would expect a sell-off, but remember that they don’t own their first round pick next year, the Bears do. So they have to get creative to build around Bryce Young.

Coaches and ownership for the panthers have been openly discussing trading for a wide receiver to help Young flourish early in his career. A kind of guy that could grow along with him. Jeudy is only three years into his career and could do with the the kind of full reset that the Panthers and offensive guru Frank Reich could provide for him.

The only problem with this one is, the roster is not talent-rich and they cannot afford to give up imminent high-value picks. But surely something could be done, as the Broncos may want Jeudy out of the entire conference.

Green Bay Packers

It seems that the Packers always made these kinds of lists as Aaron Rodgers’ career in Green Bay was coming to an end. It may be no different now that Jordan Love is the quarterback.

Romeo Doubs and Jaydin Reed have looked good, but don’t scream “number one option,” right now. Christian Watson is a certified burner, but cannot seem to stay healthy, either this year or during his rookie year.

But Green Bay need to know if Jordan Love is the guy right now. They have him under contract through next year, but he’s been sitting behind the most talented quarterback ever to play the game for three years, so patience isn’t quite a virtue.

This team’s roster is talented, but the coaching is suspect at best. One way to prove the rebuild is almost complete before it really even began is to go big on a guy that everyone knows is talented. It could go a long way in sussing out how good Love really is.
