2023 NFL Mock Draft February 28

Date:

The NFL season is over, so it is time to look ahead. Here is the 2023 NFL Mock Draft February 28.

1. Chicago Bears- Will Anderson, EDGE, Alabama

Chicago will be fielding offers for this pick, but if they decide to keep it, they can take a game-changing edge rusher in Anderson, who also play great run defense.

2. Houston Texans- Bryce Young, QB, Alabama

The Texans need a signal-caller of the future. Young has been clutch throughout his college career, but there will be some concerns about his size and durability.

3. Arizona Cardinals- Jalen Carter, DL, Georgia

With Kyler Murray expected to be out for a lot of next season, the Cardinals need to focus on rebuilding the roster and take the best player available. Carter is very disruptive on the interior of the defensive line.

4. Indianapolis Colts- C.J. Stroud, QB, Ohio State

The Colts have gone through enough veteran signal-callers. Stroud has nice size and can put balls right on the money.

5. Seattle Seahawks- Tyree Wilson, EDGE, Texas Tech

After nailing last draft, the Seahawks can get a good pass rusher to help their young defense.

6. Detroit Lions- Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois

The Lions have found some pass rushers, but need some help in their secondary. Witherspoon is a great cover corner.

7. Las Vegas Raiders- Will Levis, QB, Kentucky

While the Raiders may go after a veteran quarterback, Levis has good physical tools that could be developed if they don’t get an experienced player at the position.

8. Atlanta Falcons- Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon

Getting another corner across from A.J. Terrell could be the move for the Falcons, as they need to improve their secondary and this class has a few good corners at the top. Gonzalez really improved in his one season at Oregon.

9. Carolina Panthers- Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida

Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold and P.J. Walker didn’t work out. Richardson has all the athletic ability and arm strength needed to be a good quarterback, but needs better accuracy.

10. Philadelphia Eagles (Via NO)- Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas

Over the last few seasons, the Eagles have really built up their roster across the board. They can improve the running back position by taking Robinson, who can do it all.

11. Tennessee Titans- Paris Johnson Jr., OT, Ohio State

The Titans lost Taylor Lewan for the season and their offensive line has struggled. Johnson moved from guard to tackle this season, where he is a much more natural fit.

12. Houston Texans (via CLE)- Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU

After getting a franchise quarterback, the Texans need to get him a number-one option. Johnston is big and fast, which creates a mismatch outside.

13. New York Jets- Peter Skoronski, OT, Northwestern

The Jets have lost Mekhi Becton to injury, but they still need help on the offensive line. Skoronski was recruited as a center, but played left tackle well for the last few seasons at Northwestern.

14. New England Patriots- Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State

At some point, the Patriots have to address the receiver position. Smith-Njigba is a good slot receiver who could also win on the outside.

15. Green Bay Packers- Brian Branch, S, Alabama

The Packers have not had great safety play this season. Branch is a good athlete who hits hard.

16. Washington Commanders- Joey Porter Jr., CB, Penn State

Washington can get a really physical corner in Porter Jr. to improve their secondary.

17. Pittsburgh Steelers- Broderick Jones, OT, Georgia

It looks like the Steelers were focusing on offensive linemen at the Senior Bowl. The interior of the line was decent, but the tackles could be improved.

18. Detroit Lions- Bryan Bresee, DL, Clemson

Bresee is an athletic defensive tackle who could provide a mismatch on the interior. The Lions need tons of help on defense so doubling-down in the first round isn’t out of the question.

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Cam Smith, CB, South Carolina

The Bucs are out of range to get a top quarterback, but can still improve their pass defense with this pick.

20. Seattle Seahawks- Kelee Ringo, CB, Georgia

Seattle were able to get an outside and slot corner in the 2022 NFL Draft and can get another outside corner here to really upgrade their secondary. Ringo is big, but also fast.

*The Miami Dolphins have forfeited their first-round pick.

21. Los Angeles Chargers- Zay Flowers, WR, Boston College

With the injuries to Keenan Allen and Mike Williams this season, the Chargers may want to get more help at wide receiver. When they are on the field Flowers can stretch the field and open things up for everyone.

22. Baltimore Ravens- Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee

The Ravens have preferred taking wide receivers with speed to stretch the field in the past and may take Hyatt to do the same thing.

23. Minnesota Vikings- Cam Smith, CB, South Carolina

Minnesota has not had a great defense this season and can improve in the secondary.

24. Jacksonville Jaguars- O’Cyrus Torrence, OG/C, Florida

The Jaguars have Calvin Ridley coming in next season, so they may elect to improve the offensive line instead of giving Trevor Lawrence more weapons.

25. New York Giants- Myles Murphy, EDGE, Clemson

They ranked 22nd in sacks last season so getting another edge rusher couldn’t hurt.

26. Dallas Cowboys- Clark Phillips III, CB, Utah

The Cowboys started the season off well defensively, but injuries have piled up. Phillips III can help them at corner across from Trevon Diggs.

27. Buffalo Bills- Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama

With struggling in the red zone, the Bills may be tempted to take a running back to help them convert more.

28. Cincinnati Bengals- Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame

The Bengals have had success with Hayden Hurst, but Mayer is a hometown kid who is one of the better all-around tight end prospects in recent memory.

29. New Orleans Saints (via SF)- Darnell Washington, TE, Georgia

New Orleans could use some more offensive weapons considering they are out of range for a quarterback. Washington is a physical specimen who is athletic.

30. Philadelphia Eagles- Antonio Johnson, S, Texas A&M

The Eagles have had some injuries to their safeties. Johnson is big, but athletic, making him a unique chess piece for Philadelphia.

31. Kansas City Chiefs- Jordan Addison, WR, USC

The Chiefs can get a new go-to receiver in Boutte after Tyreek Hill joined the Dolphins this past offseason.
