2022 LEC Summer W2D2: Fnatic defeat Team BDS in a 54 minute banger!

Date:

Fnatic defeat Team BDS in a 54 minute banger! Odoamne notches his second MVP of 2022 LEC Summer with an outstanding performance on Gnar.

Rogue vs Astralis

Astralis’s weird and wonderful team comp falls apart at the seams because of a lackluster game from Dajor’s Yone.

I remarked that the rookie has been showing signs of improvement coming into this split, as with the rest of his team, and while I still stand by it, he missed the mark today on the aggressive, stylish pick.

Many of his ultimates were used at the tail end of a fight when Astralis were already losing, as opposed to engaging with it, and his reaction speed in these skirmishes were not up to par against Rogue’s consistent onslaught.

Odoamne picks up yet another MVP for his steadfast impact on the Gnar, being able to set up multiple AOE ultimates whilst his reliable backline ripped Astralis apart.

Fnatic vs Team BDS: The Best Game So Far

Okay… There were too many things flying around in this clown fiesta of a game, but I’ll just give you my key takeaways.

Firstly, Team BDS’s draft was quite intelligent, trying to counter the mid jungle of Corki and Viego with Skarner & Kog’Maw. Viego is not incentivized to commit forward for fear of Skarner’s crowd control and Kog’Maw can happily scale alongside Corki in a passive poke mage matchup.

Who says Grabbz can’t draft when he puts his mind into it?

Both Cinkroff and NUCLEARINT piloted their unique picks well, with Cinkroff being the sole engine for almost all of BDS’s aggressive plays, alongside Agresivoo’s Gnar.

NUCLEARINT was the sole win condition for BDS with how expertly he played the Kog’Maw, picking off multiple Fnatic members from three screens away with shocking accuracy.

I definitely thought their win versus G2 yesterday was simply G2 horsing around, but BDS seem revitalized from their abysmal Week 1 performance; they beat the reigning champions G2 and damn near beat the superteam of Fnatic!

Yesterday, I remarked how Upset has not been living up to his superstar billing as of late. Well, apparently he must’ve found my humble blog posts because the man was simply transcendent on the Zeri, finding a mind-blowing Baron steal before Moonwalking all over the scrambling BDS.

MVP: Upset (2)
